Mother of all mysterious stories!!
by anish balakrishnan on Jul 10, 2008 08:20 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why is the government so stern and adamant in not disclosing the safe guards agreement to the country?? Why is the congress so eager and scretive about this nuclear deal? Why is the whole nation being kept in darkness?
Unless this is brought out the congress wont get another term in the centre, thats for sure!

Abish, Which agreement between India and any other country is made published to the public. Vajpayee and Mushraf did agra summit and signed an agreement, Who knows the content and has the copy.
These all are confidential ones. Everything cannot be published to everybody especially when things to matter to nuclera reactors.

So don't go by the word of Karat and gang. There only opposition was it was USA on the other side..
Its not India alone who signed such treaties, even Left's mentor China also signed such a deal with US and reports are there that this deal is much better tahn China's deal and thats why China is opposing it.

If everything can't be shared, then better get a working majority (like NDA had) and do your deeds... .
Why try to jump through hoops which you know you can't jump through?

Dear All Right(All Wrong?),
Let your knickerwalas take care of their misdeeds. By getting a tight slap on the cheeks, after prostrating at the feet of Mulayam Singh twice, Jaswant Singh has demeaned
the B(ad) J(oker) Party. Let him try falling at the feet of Prakash Karat.

Look what MMS is doing.... EXACTLY the same thing... :-)
Isn't that a tight slap on the cheek for MMS?.. :-)

Game of deception
by Chaand KaTukda on Jul 10, 2008 07:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is a game of deception being played by the Congress against the nation and within it's own party. It seems to be in a tearing hurry to go to the IAEA without taking the opposition and it's allies into confidence and also by maintaining secrecy over the document. This culture of "we know what's best and you needn't know" attitude pervades throughout the country among the state govt's too. That is why the RTI Act has become so popular and useful. Can this Act be invoked in this case?

Congress could have gone to opposition (read Left) and BJP but only if they will hear them with ear for nation's interest. Left is more concerned about China's interest and BJP just want power any any cost.

you cannot pre-decide what other ppl want. you have to give them chance. By not even showing the IAEA document properly (only the basics wree shown), and by rushing to the IAEA without the trust vote, are not a signs of a responsible govt. The left and the BJP are worthy supporters and opposition respectively. They cannot and should not be ignored on grounds as baseless as these.

You don't get it. YOU are in the tiny minority on this issue. Only really supporters of your position are the Communists and some hardline muslim parties. The govt is just pursuing the will of the people.

Also, what tearing hurry? The deal has been on the table for at least 4 years. We can discuss it for another 20 years like everything else? That's why nothing ever gets done in India, no electricity, running water, sewage, roads, public transportation. Only people like to talk about things, never actually do anything.

BJP is NewBharat,i.e NewIndia
by kumar bala on Jul 10, 2008 07:43 AM  Permalink

BJP is the only party who is putting forward issues to Indians. Nuclear deal is too crucial for India because of High technology. India should not sign this deal. India will lose his gain if signs this deal. India should remember it's trap for us.

MM Singh should go ahead with the deal at a lightening speed.
by ASHOK on Jul 10, 2008 07:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We Indians are good negotiators and I am sure, so are Indian Nuclear experts.

Anil Kakodkar from Nuclear side, MK Narainan from Political side are definitely not going to do something, which they regret rest of their rest of life.

These are final professionals. So is MM Singh.

It is unfortunate that Commies wated their energies and did not allow the deal/agreement to move forward an Inch , since last 1 year.

Commies are real destroyers of India, blocking our progress in almost every fiel.

They had West Bengalfor 30 years (without break) and look it the progress in West Bengal.
From Top Industrial state , commies brought it to bottom.

Whole of G8 nations are supporting the deal but COMMIES are opposing it. Only because they hate USA

We Indians are good negotiators...

I'm sure the average life of an Indian is greatly superior to that of an average American...

The per capita income of lower 80% strata is surely higher than the top 10% earners in the western world...

We have eradicated poverty and have self-sufficiency in the food situation...

Coz we are good negotiators and have top brain Nuclear scientists.. :-)

Good one Ashok.... keep them coming..

Dear Ashok,

"Don't Cross the Bridge Before You Reach it" is a wise old saying.

Who will regret and who will not, time only will decide. Unfortunately, it would be too late by then, because, except Anil Kakodkar, no other former chief of AEC is in favor of signing the deal "IN ITS PRESENT FORM" and so are the BJP and the Communists. As for MMS is concerned, the less said the better.

Ha ha ha. "good negotiators, my foot". We are good at negotiating sell-outs. The Enron deal is the epitome of out negotiating skills. THe Bofors deal is another one. There are many such examples today in our public-private partnership deals that we are signing.

And Kandahar is deal was the best negotiation, You forgot that deliberately.

You ask Brijesh Misra, Advisor of Vajpayee. He already told whther this deal is good or bad.
Kalam said. Subramanyam said, karaodkar said. All pioneers of India's Nuc technology said clearly abt this. But now eminent scientists like Karat, Yechuri etc against it

Betrayal by Congress
by Jo Ho on Jul 10, 2008 07:15 AM  Permalink

Congress has betrayed this country since its birth since the period of the great lover of Lady Mountbatten. It's an evil force controlled by foreigners. The masters of the slave party don't have proper history of its ancestors. Don't understand how much financial favor is gained by UPA by this deal. A minority government which is yet to prove its majority on the floor has no rights to sign a deal or even circulate the papers to IAEA. This is clearly a betrayal to the people of this nation. Can't the Supreme Court do something?
