nice one... what about CHINESE PARTY OF INDIA??? ;)
- PSU Divestment: Chidambaram issued a statement today mentioning that the government could push divestment of equity in PSUs (Besides a proposal to sell 10% equity in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, the Left had put the brakes even on divestment of small equity in non-navratnas, including a 15% stake in Housing and Urban Development Company, National Mineral Development Corporation, Neyveli Lignite and Power Finance Corporation.) The proceeds from the divestment were to go to the National Investment Fund to be used for social sector projects.
- Coal: According to the current Coal Mines Nationalization Act, private companies which have been awarded captive coal blocks can use the mined coal only for approved power generation / captive usage plans (the rest going to Coal India at subsidized prices). With the SP expected to get charge of the Coal ministry, this Act could be amended.
- Retail: The government is likely to make an aggressive pitch to take up issues like opening up FDI in multi-branding retail.
- Banking and Insurance: There could be progress on the banking reforms bill (which include consolidation amongst PSU banks), the pension fund regulatory and development authority bill. Also, pending was the issue of raising FDI in insurance to 74% from 49%.
- Others: Legislations like the foreign educational institutions amendment bill as well as the unorganized sector social security bill could
The Left has officially withdrawn its support for the UPA government today. With the Left out of the way, prospects are suddenly bright for the government's long suspended reforms agenda in addition to the Indo-US nuclear deal. With the Samajwadi Party (SP) pledging support to the nuclear deal, fears of the government falling have receded. The government will have to secure additional support of some smaller partners like the RLD and the JD(S) besides individual MPs to ensure a majority, but the silver lining will be that the Left parties would no longer wield clout over the ruling alliance. We have made a list of expected policy re-alignments and pending reforms that could be pushed thru by the Congress.
Policy Re-alignment:
- Rupee: SP's views are that the government must use the country's $300 billion forex reserves (6th largest reserves in the world) to strengthen the rupee and thus bring inflation down. INR has hit 15-month low of 43.5 against the dollar and lost almost 12% since May. According to the SP's target Rs 39 per dollar, inflation would come down by 2% to 4% in a short time.
- Telecom: According to the SP, the DoT was taking a lenient view on spectrum charges at the behest of GSM operators. SP has argued for indexing the fixed spectrum charge to the growth in revenues of the industry between 2003 and 2008 (the government could raise as much as Rs 10,000 crore). Further, by hiking the spectrum usage charges beyond 8MHz to 2 per cent
Have a small request to left parties, not to air unwanted Anti-American sentiments and play spoil sports game. It is going to ruin the prospects of upcoming IT/Software Parks/Cities in Kerala / Bengal. The Promoters of these projects are going to depend on large American IT/Software companies to step-in. Please try not to create a negative impression and harm the prospects of young generations in these two Communist Ruled states.

N- Deal support withdrawal by LEFT is not anti American. IT industries have been surviving on business co operation of US but it does not mean that we loose thwe right to criticise wrong US President policies for which entire wolrd is the sufferer. We should excercise maturity in such mattrers. Each business has it's own limitation and pros and cons but it does not mean that we should shelve our right and safe guards.A right critism should be viewed with broader mentality.

No problem bhujanga subannachar, The American IT/Software giants are in no hurry to come to Kerala/Bengal. They can easily go to other places in India where Red Carpet WELCOME is offered, i.e.Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune or other places of their choice...& skip the communist ruled states.. It is not that they insist to come.. they are being invited by the left ministers.. They should not hold the shit on left hand and try to shake hands with the other. They will call you bloody shit and just leave. Do some sensible action dear left politicians and their supporters.

Come on Sahadevan, don't be so petulant. Any writer has got to be a paid writer, otherwise how can they survive without remuneration? Anyway, it is a known fact that the Leftists have infiltrated into the media far in excess of their popular support base, and it is how we see any number of tendentious write-ups, reports and articles - heavily weighed in favour of the Leftist point of view. Yes, Left makes policies for 'people'- its own party people, and for their Chinese masters. Well, if the Left has not committed suicide, it is bound to decay on its own, suffering as it is from chronic and congenital consumption.
