Now the time to think about Regional Parties in National Politics
by puri ananth on Jul 09, 2008 12:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is really a bad situation to a government in ruling neither it can take any decision on its own nor it can make any strategic policies. Now it is the time for us to think do we really need all these small parties in national politics. Coalition of all these small parties destabilising smooth governance and hindering growth. Whatver the party in power they should have the absolute power to make decisions. Comes to nuclear deal politicians are more bothered about other countries and its vote banks but not even thinking of their own country and its future. People are thinking on party lines than the country and its future. So, we should bring constitutional amendment disallowing all these small parties to contest in national politics.

(1) After this Agreement USA will supply all fuel, machinery / equipment & technology to India for producing Nuclear Power.
(2) All these days from about 22 Nuclear Power Plants, India is producing power as well as Atom. It's a high security / secret that from where which is produced, how much is produced, where it is supplied, what research is being done with that, etc. to anybody. But if we sign this Agreement, we have to disclose these secrets and also agree to 14 of our Nuclear Power Plants to be under the scanner of International Atomic Power Organization.
(3) The fuel utilized to produce Atomic Power can be recycled for reuse and this plant will be under direct supervision of IAPO.
If India does nuclear test, this agreement gets cancelled. But
(1) USA will take back all the machinery / equipment / technology supplied to India thus far.
(2) Those 14 plants will continue to be under scanner irrespective of the status of the agreement.
On the other hand, if any of the commitments given by USA is breached by them, then there is no clause for cancelling this agreement.
The agreement is apparently like this... USA can either hug India or slap India . India will not ask why are we hugged or why are we slapped. On the other hand, India cannot hug or slap USA for breach of agreement.
This is only capsule so that easy to read and digest.
USA does not have Culture, does not have Ethics, only want power over others. Particularly wants a firm footing in South Asia .

If it is National Interest- then
by MSUBRAMANIAM on Jul 09, 2008 12:52 PM  Permalink

What is this horse trading going on. Where did the Nationalism Go. Why Manmohan Singh does not tell the coutry about all the facts. Does it mean after signing only the Nation shud Know.IT WILL BE ANOTHER KASHMIR IN THE MAKING.
What is the Secret behind the Hyde Act? Does it affect the Main Agreement. Can the Lawyers go through the same and educate the People of India?
Even if Left is Wrong- Full facts shud be made known to the People of INDIA.
People talk of National interest- Both Congi and Commy? Which National Interest is superior?
Commies are bending towards chinese then Congy is bending towards the Europeon power!!!!!
Communal Bogey should be ignored and the same cud have been discussed with the Opposition because they are also Nationalists- far more than the Commy nd Congy- One Ruled by Foreign ideology and the other by a Foreigner.

What a Irony this is. After the elections these bunch of congress and leftiest jokers will meet again to frame government. The people of this country should understand this and throw them out of power for ever.

Being party to UPA government for 4 yeras, if they are having difference of opinion then they should resign as members of parliament and go back to people to have their acceptance or otherwise of their view of the government.

I am not a communist nor a left supporter. But asking them to resign is unfair. In the parliamentry democracy a constituent/individual can withdraw support if it feels, that a certain issue being tackeled is not in the best interest of the nation.

b)UPA is a post poll formation.many a constituents had contested election against each other.
There has been a lot of vulgar left washing on this board, which should not be allowed.
This forum is for an intellignt debate,a nd not for abusing.

Why the Left member resign, just because they have withdrawn support to the Government?
In fact this whole deal has become very murky, when the Government admits that it can out the deal in Black and White before the nation.
Why?
Now that the die has been cast we hope that the Government would clarify about secret clauses in deal,if any.
