Renowned spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, has appealed to all Indian political parties to display "magnanimity" and support the troubled Indo-US nuclear deal.

"All parties must support the deal that is beneficial to the country," he said.

India has always had a tradition of the government and opposition coming together in national interest whenever a crisis of war befall on the nation, he said, appealing to all

the political parties to display magnanimity on the issue.

"At a time when the country is faced with severe energy shortage, the government has negotiated a nuclear deal with the US, which can augment sustainable energy sources," he said in a statement in Seattle.

Congress knows it
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 09, 2008 10:22 PM  Permalink

Congress knows fully well that it would not be able to pull on for long like this with numbers, the game of which is very tension some and presents volatile results. It wants to purchase some time-say of a few months at least after which it does not bother even if parliament is dissolved and fresh elections are called for before the scheduled time of 5 years for general elections in 2009.For the left over period of its otherwise eligible full term of 5 years,it wants to be the care taker govt so that all the advantages of using the govt machinery clandestinely at least, will accrue. It is a seasoned political party adept in all such manipulations & manoeuvrings.

yeh partyion ki jugadbaaji
by dddelhi on Jul 09, 2008 01:14 PM  Permalink

every third fourth person is making his own xyz jhandoo balm party and after election, they are involved in jugadbaaji to form a government.
If from 1989, only 4 election should have been held but due to this dirty jugadbaaji politics, there were 6 elections and every elections costs on taxpayers money. Why these idiot politiciens do not form only two parties?
