BJP is right
by hameed vinod on Jul 09, 2008 02:31 PM  Permalink

If one can understand the full implications of Rudd's statement ...this is the time when we should not go for this nuclear deal with conditions which are hampering our nuclear arsenal ...the time is very less with developed countries ...they hav to give us the nuclear technology for 2 reasons - to control climate change and to reduce the oil prices in future ...so why should we hurry??? ....when BJP was negotiating this deal earlier, the conditions were tougher and it was not signed ...after 5 years, we r getting much better deal ...and in next 5 year, it will be much much better ...the developed countries will hav to give us our due ...they hav to acknowledge that we r nuclear power and they will sell us the Uranium
those who r telling that this is the best deal which u can get from USA are lying ....such statements are made to put pressure on India to sign deal with the present set of conditions ...which are seriously against the national sovereignity

Great Irony on NSG
by Kris on Jul 09, 2008 12:26 PM  Permalink

The NSG (Nuclear Suppliers Group) was formed in 1975 in response to the India's Nuclear test of 1974 only.

Now the US is going to exert pressure on the NSG to ease the restrictions on nuclear exports to India - the original cause for the group! - It is a great achievement for India and recognition of its track record record in non-proliferation unlike Pakistan (or China to some extent) who have been selling nuclear materials to all and sundry.

by Deepak kumar on Jul 09, 2008 11:44 AM  Permalink

Recent developements are quite interesting...For the first time, our PM has taken a stand and is sticking to it...That actually shows the courange of a guy who was never a field politician [ corrupt as rest of them]. I admire him and his courage and sure he will take the right decision in the best interest of our country...We are lucky to have this great man at the top who doesnt have single scandal/corruption charges against him.....Pround of you Mr Manmohan....

reason
by Abhi Bhat on Jul 09, 2008 11:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some people sell out their nation for money.
Some do that for their own security.
Some for short sightedness.
Some for ego.
Some for love.
Some for fear.
Some for pure neglect.
Some for inferiority complex
MMS and Sonia - you pick a reason.

Effects on 123 agreement?
by Arjun bharatiya on Jul 09, 2008 11:25 AM  Permalink

It is hypocrisy to sell uranium to China and Russia [Images], and not to India," Robb added.

Sounds interesting. Is it orchestrated or a candid confession? Must wait and watch to see how things unfold.

Manmohan Singh Ji, tread with caution. Best wishes. We entrust our/ India's future in you hands. Hope you are taking a calculated risk!
