Farmer's Message
by shailendra lande on Jul 09, 2008 11:12 PM  Permalink

Many people here opposes the loan waiver for farmers by Manmohan Singh. If we neglect agriculture we loose significance in the world. Thereby, economic strength will be lost. We have already experienced scarcity of wheat in the past and today or tomorrow the same problem may be faced by rice. In the name of Special Economic Zones, we are patronising industrialists who are offering very few jobs to the local youth. Instead, they are reaping benefits in the name of tax holidays. Thanks to Manmohan Singh for his great service to the poor farmer by waiving Rs 72 crore loans, for Rural Employment Guarantee Act which ensures employment guarantee, food at reasonable price despite inflation, conveyance to rural people to the place of work.
People say that whatever financial support you may give the farmer, but he doesn’t survive without a private loan. Whatever be the truth, agriculture and agriculturists both must be protected for the food security.
Food security and energy needs both are inter-related. Bio fuel demands for agriculture produce, farmers changes crop pattern as per the market trend and less land will be available for the food grain production. Thats the reason we want this deal and government.

Intelligence of us Indians
by Indian Indian on Jul 09, 2008 09:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Intelligence of Indians can be calculated by the leaders we choose, the newest congress friends , the king Pim.p said this in an interview. I feel sardaar MMS and Maino Antonia ko Chullu bhar paanee main doob marnaa chahiye...for this shameless alliance..

Justifying his party's decision to join hands with the Congress after years-long bitter rivalry, Amar Singh said in the interview: "When Prakash Karat goes to meet Sonia Gandhi, it’s called ’suhaag raat’, but when we go to meet Sonia Gandhi, it’s called ‘balaatkaar’."

But I think the so-called Italian is doing good for the nation, while our home-made huge-belly politicians have done nothing for the country.

Can you just tell me Mr Advani's single achievement? Except the Rath Yatra?

But Mr Singh has shown already his ability by pursuing economic reforms successfully in 1990s. And maybe you are working in a multi-national company which came to India as a fallout of the reform. And that is why India is growing at 9% rate. All due to Mr Singh.

Not Advani or anybody else.

Why is Manmohan so secretive
by kannan udayarajan on Jul 09, 2008 07:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In all this song and dance sequence of Left withdrawing its support for UPA, what the media and the pundits are ignoring are the terms and conditions of the Indo-US nuclear agreement fathered by ManMohan.

If this is something that great :

1.Why is it not in the public domain?
2.Why was it not discusses in the Lok Sabha?
3.Why was it not tabled in the Rajysabha?
4.Why does not India's defense minister, AK Antony and foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee speak and elaborate on the benefits of the agreement? Do they know anything?

Congress as usual is treating India as Gandhi & Company,Pvt Ltd.

Its a shame that we have politicians like Mulayam who will even compromise India's sovereignity for two cabinet positions and 4 ministers of state.

Its high time they made a copy of this agreement public. If its good the people of India will accept it.Why should Manmohan and Sonia fear?

What good will happen if the agreement is tabled in the parliament? For the last several years no constructive discussions are held in the parliament. As the session starts the opposition (be it the congress or the BJP) keeps shouting slogans/walking out.The last day of the session all the bills are passed as if they are the least important. They do not discuss and bring out the best, but only try to come into the limelight. My friend, yes, the agreement should in principle be tabled in the parliament, but what good our politicians do with it.

G-8 backs deal
by Abhik RayChaudhury on Jul 09, 2008 06:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is good news and congratulations to all including the nuclear scientists, ex and current military top brass, economists and politicians specifically prime minister Manmohan Singh, who stayed on course to make the deal a reality (well almost). Since the G-8 is backing it Australia can not say no (same goes for China). When and if the uranium supply starts the effect will be far reaching for india. We need to realise that for decades we were denied this essential material from the world market and the deal will provide that. This is not a temporary fix, this is going to be long term and this will effect our growth in all sectors in a positive maner.

Everyone in the world is supporting the deal except Prakash Karat....Congress always tries to take our country a step forward and the Left is ready to oppose the move taken by Congress...This is not the first time it has happened but it has happened in the past too...but im sure the govt. will go ahead with the deal and that would really benifit India...Left should be kicked out of the parliament...
