BJP is the only party who can rule the country. Congress is a useless party. This congress will not come into power in near future i.e. atleast in 25 years time. No leader, nothing and a baseless party.

Get ur facts right before commenting. Dont think u only knows history. if u dont like BJP, show that in some other forum, but dont spread wrong things.

Sample this:- Dr Manmohan Singh reiterated India's commitment to the unilateral moratorium on nuclear testing made by the NDA Government.

This is after he signed the initial deal with Bush on July 18, 2005...

You said!! Congress supported the ruling govt when it felt that we should be united in front of international community, that too on a serious issue like nuc tests (even though congress was opposed to the timing).. and remember it was congress which planned everything in advance and set everything right..

then who told you that supporting govt was giving support to whatever bjp do? did congress aprove vajpayee's moratorium plans? never! congress later publicly questioned BJP, who gave them the authority to declare so and till today no BJP man dare to answer!!

Govt should try to build a consensus with the political parties especially in the opposition benches about the main features of the Indo-US nuclear deal. But Congress even doesnt care about showing what is there in the deal and this PM is taking this as a personal prestige without thinking about nation's future prospects.

Govt is not even ready to tell wt is there in the deal to their own alies who are with them for the last 4 years. They are saying they will prove the majority in the parliament and then go ahead with the deal.

Is Congress trying to call a all-party meeting? conduct a meeting and explain ur point. its a different matter whether all agrees or not.

Today Congress is not considering anybody and trying to explain what is there in the deal. Thats where the issue is. Nobody opposes it, but wanted to see the final agreement details.

If it is a civilian deal then countrymen must know about it. Why to hide it?

all these people who have been writing so vociferously about the deal have to be really shaken up. do any one of these know exactly what is the nuclear deal and what are the contents of it? if not why not go by the intellegent people who have experience and expertise in the field and know what exactly the deal is meant for. high time we learn to give credit where it is required than to go behind silly differences ..

Suspense!
by Guest on Jul 09, 2008 12:29 PM  Permalink

Surely there is suspense in this whole story! I cant think of Congress (with current leaders) or for that matter any party in India putting national interest before self interest. There is surely some "hidden agenda behind this nuke deal". Surely this will get uncovered and I hope it gets uncovered before the damage is done.

Y Blaming BJP
by Abu Faishal on Jul 09, 2008 12:27 PM  Permalink

I see a lot of blogs here blaming BJP. The Game was started by Congress and Ended by the Leftists. Y blaming BJP. BJP is only playing the role of Opposition. They are not aginst this deal. They are against some sections of the deal which prohibit India from doing nuclear Test. I feel this concern is genuine. We are interested in deal with US but US cannot dictate its own term on our security concerns. Some guys here simply out of hatred are poewing venom of caste, creed religion etc on BJP which i think is unfair.

Problem
by Upadrasta PardhaSaradhi on Jul 09, 2008 12:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

So many people here are jumping up and down without understanidng what BJP and ADWANI says. BJP & ADWANI doesnt have a problem. He is not opposing the deal, he wants a clear cut discussion on this deal about the positives and negatives in the parliament, which is the highest house in the country. If parliament is not taken into consideration, this agreement has no value.

you should try to build a consensus with the political parties especially in the opposition benches about the main features of the Indo-US nuclear deal.

FYI, BJP is the one who started negotiations for this Neuclear deal. BJP is always clear that Politics shouldnt effect the long-term foreign and economic policies of the nation.

Every one is clear that this deal is beneficial for India, but only thing people wanted to know is what clauses we have that can hurt India in the future. Thats the basic bottomline point here and every common man in India have the right to know whats there in that agreement, easpecially the clauses that effects in the future.

We need answers what happens if India do a nuclear test in the future? Will this agreement prevents it? or there is any way where India can negotiate?

Until and unless this is explained in public atleast in parliament , you can not have such agreements

All BJP wants is to some how let the deal slip thru congress hands and they hope to gain control of the government after the election and make the deal and start saying India Shining ... BJP perfect Oppurtunist ... it is clearly seen when advani played religious cards after his talk abt. inflation didnt click when he launched his election campign ... the same happened with Modi in Gujarat also ...
