Think on following issue
by praful nikam on Jul 09, 2008 06:43 PM  Permalink

Why we are opposing deal:-
1)Because LEFT saying:-But same left is giving last 4 years go on signal to goverment, they also dont want to loose power and their concern is not deal but country with whom we are going for deal.
2)Because Deal is with America:- I think People of india dont have any personal problem with America like LEFT(They are having personal problems).Any way no other country is so capable to go for such a big deal and get pass through NSG and IAEA; that political power is in only America. Any way if we are going in deal with any country we have to pay same money.
3)Because of some clauses in deal:-ya on this point i m also agree and BJP is also opposing on same point. Specialy non plorification clause means we can not go for neculear test but this clause is also not big road block; as explanation by Abdul Kalam we are already having nuclear bombs; we dont need more tests and if we need test then as we done in past we broke all commetments and conducted test there are some international bans wchich later on removed(BJP goverment case).
4)Communal:- I dont find any communal flavour in this deals.
5)Foregin Policy:- any way world is so polarised every country is changing there policy as America want(seen in IRAQ case), america is so powerful politicaly in international sceniro so india also dont have any option wheather we go for deal or not.

All these are my independent views, wating for positive replys, comments, corrections

Let's just talk about merits and demerits of the deal and the strategic alliance. This deal comes with lot of baggage.

India has to change its foriegn policy stand even before the deal was signed: "Voting against Iran in nuclear security issue". US congressman and Senator openly warned India to vote againt Iran if we want the deal to complete. This is atrocious; these petty politicians threatening our great nation.

Also, India has no enmity against Iran. Actually, we have had very good relationship with them. Iran is the only country which kind of vetoed the resolution, moved by pakistan, condemning India in OIC [organuzation of Islamic countires conf] some 20 years ago. It even gave permission for India to use its airspace and land incase of war with Pakistan. why should we vote against a friend?

This is just the beginning and we will lose much more than what we gain from this alliance.

Agreed, nuclear energy is important but we have other options and US is not only way to go.

1)I like to tell u if America want to attack IRAN no body can stop them, so where we vote or not no issue.
2)Learn from past experince; we oppose Iraq attack; pass the resolution in parlement what benefit we got, we only loose the all contracts which other countrys got in IRAQ after war.
3)In world sceniro we dont have any option to stand with america and be practical in politics no friends no enymes.
4)We cannot make friendship with China, Russia him self supporting america decide where u wann to stand and whom.
5)Any way we are not handover our independence, just we have to make some compromise depending on sceniro we cannot leave in past dreams.
6)Ankhe kholo dunia dekho.......

Let us take any devil's help. We must prosper. No country can interfere in our affairs as long as we do not give any chance to do so. If we are patriotic enough, no power on earth can harm us.

Helps, Treaties and deals are OK, but it is too dangerous to keep a wolf in place of a Dog while seeking extra security of the house.

To Time the Election
by Lalatendu Deo on Jul 08, 2008 11:48 PM  Permalink

Left have, since formation of the UPA Government, been threatening the Government. Only some of the times the Government have conceded the Demands of the Left. The Congress have heeded to such demands from other parties as well.

But certainly, by showing to outside world that the government was listening to these demands, and painting these as unjust demands, the congress has been cleverly steering through these road blocks.

Signing of the Document is considered to be helping the Congress Party in the next Elections. And the same is believed to be murdering the prospects of the Left parties in general. BJP is opposing to it because their advantages would also reduced to a great extent if the deal is signed before the Election. It is needless to say that BJP will surely be signing the deal if it is not signed by the present government, anyway.

The Price Rise is a sore throat that is threatening to implode. The Congress can't wait for that opportune moment that may never come. They have few solid issues for the impending election. Those may erode over time.

The Congress has taken a calculated risk by not heeding to the Blackmail. Surely the Party will try to bake the Cake and will share it with no one else. Not even with its allies. Left will try very hard to project that the Deal was not in the interest of the country, with not much effect. With Oil Price soaring, the public opinion against the deal has melted down a bit. BJP surely, will play it down.

CONGRESS HAS DEFIANTLY DUG ITS OWN GRAVE ... FOR THE 1st TIME EVER THEY HAVE LOST THE MAJORITY IN THE UPPER HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT...EVEN IF THE MANAGE TO GET A MAJORITY IN THE LOVER HOUSE...THEY WILL JUST BECOME A LAME GOVERNMENT TRYING TO HANG ON FOR A YEAR...IF THEY DO MANAGE TO LIMP FOR ONE MORE YEAR...THEY WILL BECOME SO WEAK AND USELESS...THAT THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN GET 100 SEATS WHEN THE ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN A YEARS TIME.....WHEN THE ELECTIONS ARE HELD..I CANT SEE ANYONE GETTING A MAJORITY...AND ANOTHER COLLATION IS THE ONLY OPTION....YEARS BACK ONE COULD NOT EVER THINK OF A COMMUNIST AND RIGHT WING COLLATION ..BUT FOR THE 1st TIME EVER IT HAS BECOME VERY POSSIBLE.......CONGRESS HAVE LOST A VERY FAVOURABLE ALLY IN THE COMMUNISTS....
THE ONLY OPTION FOR CONGRESS NOW IS TO CALL IN ELECTIONS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT GOING FOR A TRUST VOTE ANA THEN HOPE FOR THE BEST....IF THEY DO GO FOR A TRUST VOTE JUST FOR THE ONE SIDED NUCLEAR DEAL WITH USA..AND THEY LOSE ...CONGRESS WILL BE CRUSHED IN THE ELECTIONS....IF THEY DO MANAGE TO GET THE NUMBERS...AND LIMP ON FOR ANOTHER YEAR....CONGRESS WILL GET CRUSHED IN THE ELECTIONS HELD IN A YEARS TIME...

On what basis you say this? Just giving a statement is not fair. We are watching everyone. Congress or BJP has never surrendered to any external agencies at the cost of national interest. But in case of Leftists, they were very clear in their lenience to China at the cost of Indian interest

Anup, you and your party will never come up with anything new. You have blind anti Americanism, sweetly named as imperialism. What purpose it served? Even in China we can see all these Pizza Huts, Mc Dolalds , Walmarts and KFCs. In fact Chinese cities are dotted with all these 'imperialist' outlets!

Again, why do you drag Muslims to this issue? Just like your English speaking boss karat, you too try to confuse others?

Looks like most people in this forum are taking that deal is in national interest. The deal is in the interest of america and not India.IF you think India will be full of lights after the deal think again, the nuclear energy will meet only less than 10% of our needs. But we effectively give ourselves to US in that matter.
Just think, IF SOMEONE TOLD YOU, I WOULD GIVE YOU ELECTRICITY AT HOME ONLY TO MEET 10% OF YOUR NEEDS, BUT YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT I SAY, MY ENEMY WILL BE YOUR ENEMY, YOU WILL HAVE TO TOE MY LINE ON VARIOUS ISSUES AND IN SHORT YOU WILL HAVE TO DANCE TO MY TUNES................Will you accept this???????? This is what you get wuth the deal, may be unwritten but clearly implied..

BJP supporters in rediff, mostly pizza delivery boys in US,are supporters of nuclear deal, except for the BJP leaders, who were the original beggars of the deal.

These PIZZA delivery boys or walmart shelf fillers in US are so indebted to US that they refuse to see the long term interests of India.

And they would like it anytime of the day to do muslim-bashing. Ordinary Muslims can never do anything right. He is criticised for whatever he does. Poor ordinary educated muslims seem to hvae resigned to their miserable fate. What a pity.

Anup Can I know ur qualification?, u dont have a common sense this deal is not everythin and country means not ur father's property any way u should have some what sense that America is not a cent that will give us some thing free of cost we have to pay them money(cash) in which they are intrested and we are getting power. Any way america is strongest and what is the problem in keeping good reletionship with them.
If we tried good reletionship with China what we got in past u know. why then Mr karat and others not forcing China to support for perment seat to india in UN and other issue. america is supporting on those issue also.
From where muslim and Macd, Pizza come in nuclear deal its just a deal boss nothing else.
Left is in goverment so all this issue otherwise till deal will be final and all drama end but this left means wrong they are there and all issue is there. Congress done big mistek taking there support and trying to convince those donkeys on development.
If u dont have any sense or knowledge take help from Urmila to referesh ur mind come out of LEFT 1960's mentality god bless u..........

You will see, on a deeper analysis, that this deal is perfectly fitting the game plan of the congress. They want election on an earlier date; that is before things go out of hand. Which is why they are going ahead.

Congress will be in a better position, if the election is held now, than any time later. Which is why they are playing a hoot to the Left.

To be honest, next year things will go out of hand, as you suggested.

We have not seen the last of inflation.

In the midst of recession, next year will not be the best time for election.
