I doubt that you work among the poor. Fancy that someone who made this claim posting messages 24x7. One needs to click the permalink to know the enthusiasm of First Last to post messages.

You forget that inflation has another side. It provides farmers with remunerative prices that they have never experienced for years.

End with a quote from Business Standard:

"Or take agriculture, whose annual growth during the UPA term has been 3.6 per cent — again a jump of nearly 50 per cent, and the best record since the 1980s. "

CONGRESS HAS DEFIANTLY DUG ITS OWN GRAVE ... FOR THE 1st TIME EVER THEY HAVE LOST THE MAJORITY IN THE UPPER HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT...EVEN IF THE MANAGE TO GET A MAJORITY IN THE LOVER HOUSE...THEY WILL JUST BECOME A LAME GOVERNMENT TRYING TO HANG ON FOR A YEAR...IF THEY DO MANAGE TO LIMP FOR ONE MORE YEAR...THEY WILL BECOME SO WEAK AND USELESS...THAT THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN GET 100 SEATS WHEN THE ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN A YEARS TIME.....WHEN THE ELECTIONS ARE HELD..I CANT SEE ANYONE GETTING A MAJORITY...AND ANOTHER COLLATION IS THE ONLY OPTION....YEARS BACK ONE COULD NOT EVER THINK OF A COMMUNIST AND RIGHT WING COLLATION ..BUT FOR THE 1st TIME EVER IT HAS BECOME VERY POSSIBLE.......CONGRESS HAVE LOST A VERY FAVOURABLE ALLY IN THE COMMUNISTS....
THE ONLY OPTION FOR CONGRESS NOW IS TO CALL IN ELECTIONS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT GOING FOR A TRUST VOTE ANA THEN HOPE FOR THE BEST....IF THEY DO GO FOR A TRUST VOTE JUST FOR THE ONE SIDED NUCLEAR DEAL WITH USA..AND THEY LOSE ...CONGRESS WILL BE CRUSHED IN THE ELECTIONS....IF THEY DO MANAGE TO GET THE NUMBERS...AND LIMP ON FOR ANOTHER YEAR....CONGRESS WILL GET CRUSHED IN THE ELECTIONS HELD IN A YEARS TIME...

it would be wise for cong to drag the government as far as they can. the moment elections are held, they will be swept way for good. their bhim, arjun, sonia, have all become feeble and impotent.

Nuclear power , future INdia and Atalji
by abboral boral on Jul 08, 2008 11:18 PM  Permalink

Though at present share of nuclear power in India is 6 % but in near future to avoid disaster by using fossil fuels and global warming by using more co2 ,India will need allmost 60% in 2050 and our own reserves are dpleting day by day and will be minimum in 5 years from now .Considering India.s need for more powers to maintain 10% GDP growth on sustainable basis ,we must sign the deal at the cost of national interest .Our political parties should resist any politics for this national crisis .It is like 1991 when India had only 1 billion doller forign exchange reserves or just 7 days import .It could have been another ethiopia or rwanda ,or any other african countries suffering from economic crisis but thanks to P.V.Narsimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh under a minority gov which even present day congress leaders were also oposed to economic liberisation ( No body in congress remember PVN )supported by great Atal Behari Bajpai and BJP .Where was left at that time .Now see the economic boom of India after 15 years of liberisationn .This nuclear power signature is second economic liberisation and I am sure people will remember after 15 years from now when our every village ,roads ,factories, homes ,great great malls will be illuminated 24 hours .WHY Atalji is silent at this crucial hour ? Has he seperated himself from the nasty politics or BJP leadership is not consulting him anymore ?

Timing An Election
by Lalatendu Deo on Jul 08, 2008 10:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress has realised that this is the perfect time to call for the general election. They have only very few issues in hand (Loan waiver, Nuclear Issue) which are fresh in the mind of the voters. The rise in Prices Pinches. But the real threat will be when the inflation becomes more pronounced. Now, they are blaming the global phenomenon for it. But as the time passes, such a reasoning would not not buy any votes.

BJP can not take any advantage from Nuclear issue. They can neither vehemently oppose it nor support it. Come election, thy will largely ignore it. And, no body will listen to the reasoning of the left, anyway.

even if the deal is signed or not, it will hardly make a difference of 10 votes for congress. what people want is stable governance, jobs and security. appeasement hurts and appears insulting especially after hundreds of innocent civilians are blasted by islamist terrorists in the country.

Even if the government falls, there is no respite to you knickerwallahs or commies.

1. In whole of South India, BJP will find it difficult to open its account. This despite BJP forming the government in Karnataka last month. A Congress-JDS tie-up gives them 55% vote share, adequate to ensure a complete white wash for the BJP who would lose their 18 seats they hold currently. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK alliance sits quite pretty and AIADMK will certainly not enter into a pre-poll pact with the BJP. Chandra Babu Naidu in AP will do the same, tying up with the Left instead. In Kerala, the BJP is a non-player.

2. BSP cannot likewise enter into a pre-poll pact with BJP because to protect its Muslim votes. So the BJP is destined to third place at best - losing 15 seats it currently holds.

3. In MP, Orissa, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan, the BJP governments faces huge anti-incumbency. Accordingly expected to lose significant seats it currently holds.

This is only a short list. So except for small states like Delhi, Haryana etc, there is no space for the BJP to makeup its loses, leave alone forge ahead from its current tally.

The Left is in a similar predicament. It is poised to get completely white washed in Kerala (where it now holds 20 seats). In West Bengal it is expected that TMC-Congress tie-up will make a huge dent.

So except for their public posturing, both BJP or Left do not want immediate elections

Not only that. These knickerwallahs in Karnataka bought 6 independents. They then monetarily induced 2 Congress and 2 JDS MLAs to resign and seek re-election under their symbol. All these independents and Opposition MLAs are given or promised Ministerial berths.

All these defections accomplished by the Mining Mafia of Bellary. One out of every two MLAs in Karnataka BJP owe allegiance to this mafia. All members of this single Mining mafia family are given ministership at the cost of sidelining loyal party workers. All economic portfolios are controlled by this mining mafia.

When this is BJP, it is hilarious to find knickerwallahs fake the upper holy ground.
