Nuclear energy deal is a ploy to bankrupt India
by Sameer on Jul 06, 2008 07:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Western countries are jealous of India's progress and want it tied down by making it depeendent and making Indian industries uncompetitive.

Just one link to see the actual cost of nculear plant
--
From The TimesMay 5, 2008

Nuclear reactors will cost twice estimate, says E.ON chiefRobin Pagnamenta
The Government has vastly underestimated the cost of building a new generation of nuclear power plants, according to the head of the world's largest power company.

Wulf Bernotat, chairman and chief executive of E.ON, the German energy giant that owns Powergen, has told The Times that the cost per plant could be as high as €6 billion (4.8 billion) - nearly double the Government's latest 2.8 billion estimate.

His figures indicate that the cost of replacing Britain's ten nuclear power stations could reach 48 billion, excluding the cost of decommissioning ageing reactors or dealing with nuclear waste. “We are talking easily about €5 billion to €6 billion [each],” Dr Bernotat said.

--

One Euro is 70 rupees.
Each plant would cost 42,000 crores. Disposal of nuclear waste not included, security of the plant not included. Cost of hosting IAEA inspectors ( basically spies) in five star hotels not included, increase in price of uranium not included.

Abe BJP and kangressi morons--do you still want nuclear energy.

India needs energy which is affordable--nuclear energy does not fit the bill.

India has to find a solution based on what india can afford and what is available.
Solar and wind both have trumendous scope. Thar desert can be pplace for solar plants and shore areas ( India has 2/3rd sea shore) can be place for wind and coean wave energy.

USA setting up industrial size solar plants- here is the list

Ivanpah Solar, USA California, 500 MW 400 MW optional extension, power tower design[7]
Mojave Solar Park, USA California, 553 MW, parabolic trough design[8]
Pisgah, USA California near Pisgah north of I-40, 500 MW, dish design[9]
Unnamed, USA Florida, 300 MW, Fresnel reflector design[10]
Imperial Valley, USA California, 300 MW, dish design[11]
Solana solar power plant, USA Arizona southwest of Phoenix, 280 MW, parabolic trough design[12]
Beacon Solar Energy Project, USA California, 250 MW, parabolic trough design[13]
Negev Desert, Israel, 250 MW, design will be known after tender[14]
Antelope Valley , USA California, 245 MW, power tower design[15]
Carrizo Solar Farm, USA California near San Luis Obispo, 177 MW, Fresnel reflector design[16]
Coalinga, USA California, 107 MW, parabolic trough design, hybrid with biomass

Left views and moves
by kanti on Jul 06, 2008 06:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Left parties are always with one or other party to share the power in the government, and with the election time is around the corner, they betray everyone even they separate among themselves (CPI,CPI(M) etc..)to fool the people get elected next time and again join the government as an outside supporter,a very interesting and dirty cyclic process.

Poor people have no voice left in India. communists fill that gap. If BJP or congress were to take up their case, communists will have some competition.

Socialism and communism is not the way for poor people to get rich. Capitalism and free enterprise , though not without faults , is the only way. Even communist countries like China have adopted capitalism and got their masses out of poverty.

In a vast country like India, it will take a long time for masses to get richer. Just compare the % of poor in pre liberalisation economy and post liberalisation economy, the number of poor uplifted is far more in post lib time.

Left parties and commercialization of politics

America is advance country because they are advace and ruthless in bussiness. In india also congress onwards almostall major parties internal systems are like dawrysystem or on the line of true commercial deal between Jaminder and ordinary villagers, not on the line of ideology..So left parties are bound to be alone and face this kind of situation.N deal is made in USA.People"s democratic resistance is the only answer.

I disagree with you for the simple reason that both the governments are showing undue haste and secrecy while other political parties opposing it are also not giving any substantive reasons for their stand. So there is no reason for the common man to support or oppose the deal on merits. I oppose it because of the secrecy.

you are cent percent correct. Remedy 1. Patronise only Hindu business except where it is not otherwise available
Remedy 2. Do not offer any form of cash in the temples which are controlled by the government and ultimately spent on P-Secular activities such as Haj subsidy/ sachar report / reservation to minorities etc.

Nuclear deal with a fanatic Christian US of America, under aegis og Sonia Maino and Capitalist mole in India - Manmohan Singh, is to ensure that Indian Nuclear Weapons program is capped and Indian power is emasculated. All Indians and Hindus in particular, should see thru this and ensure that this government of the minorities, by the minorities and for the minorities is buried permanently.
