High voltage drama
by Ramesh Dutta on Jul 05, 2008 08:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This withdrawal of support by CPM is a total drama or rather we can say "high voltage drama".They are totally afraid fo election,if CPM goes for poll they merely get few seats. In Bengal they wiil be washed out.rigging machinary is also weak congress also lost control in the state.CPM is so cunning that in lieu of withdraw support they are confirming the suopport of Samajbadi party,so that the govt must not fall.people of India now must know the charactor of CPM,One way they are showing secular otherway they are kicking Taslima out to appease Muslim.Nobody can orevent Adbani to be our next p.m

try knowing the character of Jinnah ka chela, Advani also.......

For the sake of gaining power, he is ready to put India's future in jeopardy.

BJP's(Vajpayee's) National Security Advisor had categorically stated that the deal should be supported by the BJP as it was in the Indian interest. yet they opposed it only because they wanted to come to power.

politics of opportunism
by shiva on Jul 05, 2008 08:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The issues are clear:
sign the deal
1. We get uranium for our plants and get new ones to run after ten years. The cost of new plants are not only getting higher, uranium is getting really expensive.
2. We will be second class to China & even Pakiatan.
3. the full implications of the deal is not transparent.
4. We get sucked up more into others' hands.

Do not sign the deal
1. Our present plants will strutter.
2. The new ones at Koodankulam's fate is unclear. We end up putting up a white elephant.
3. We bid bye to nuclear plants & being pushed to the wall we should go indigenous developing our own uranium & thorium.

The fall-out of the issue is at a fever pitch due to politics. Bush admn may not budge but soon there is a new dawn & we should present a stronger case. Does not not the biggest demo crazy & having one sixth population count to something? Yes, we are divided & have forgotten the lessons of slavery just sixty years ago but we should put our house in order to have a common agenda. Does not 80% dependency on oil from Gulf countries ring doom bells? Or we go down the hell-hole blaming others eternally for our follies.

It is time Left came out with clear solutions to our energy problem. One thing is certain, the days of dharna, strikes & bandhs will never solve any problem. Their idols are marching ahead putting up marvels through hard work, bereft of ideologies & inspired by fruits of their labour.

Do not be eternal stumbing blocks!

The Left has no concern of our future problems vis-a-vis our energy security.

The deal benefits India over China (or atleast places us on par with them) and hence it is obvious that Left will oppose.

THIS DEAL IS ANTI INDIAN AND SUPPORTERS OF DEAL IS TREATED AS ANTI INDIAN ONLY!!!
by khairnar on Jul 05, 2008 08:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MMS is acting on behalf of Italian Lady who is controlling Govt. in India at present. From day one of her entry into Indian Politics people forecasted the dangers India will face on this issue. Now it has become clear and this Italian Lady is doing her tricks (actually she is the UNDECLARED PM and doing the homework) to disintegrate India and dividing India into pieces. Now since the danger is out and the worst enemey of this shameless grand old party fought for Indias independence against foreign rule is taking help (SP, now became Sonia Party) Indians (common man and people living below poverty line) has no choice to make obstacles against implementation of this deal which may sign for the Italian Lady. People all around the country against foreign entries into Indian Land start afresh struggle and the leaders who are supporting this deal should be gheraoed and force them to not come out from their houses. Now we need strong actions from the public. What supporters are telling to the public is 24 hours electricity for Indians but it is a mere eyewash and common man cannot afford the electricity they are offering from the Nuclear Thermal Power Stations and then not tell about our people living below poverty line. Supporters of this deal may be staunch US allies or elite class and industrialists and not common man and the majority of the people. JAGO INDIA AND START A FRESH STRUGGLE AGAINST AMERICA'S AND ITALIAN LADY'S HIDDEN AGENDA BEFORE OUR COUNTRY DISINTEGRATE!!!

When Rajiv Gandhi initiated Computers and Telecom, Advani & Co gave statements like : :

"Congress is trying to bring in Public School culture to the land of Gandhi. India should have only cottage industries"...

Same BJP and Advani launched 1000 crores campaigns to claim the glories of Telecom Revolution in India including "internet" throgh Full Page advertisements.

I am sure all th guys who are opposing Nuclear deal now would start dancing in the streets when Advani & Co start claiming the credit after few years.

So, don't count on it.

BJP or Congress - I hope that whoeever comes to power comes with absolute majority, but it doesn't look that it will happen.

Actually the deal is signing Non-Proliferation Treaty opened for signature on July 1, 1968.which is made to limit the spread of nuclear weapons.189 countries already signed..and 5 countries ( USA,Russia,UK,china and France ) already have nuclear weapons.4 countries not signed (india, pakistan, north korea and israel).India and Pakistan both possess and have openly tested nuclear bombs. Israel has had a policy of opacity regarding its own nuclear weapons program. North Korea acceded to the treaty, violated it, and later withdrew. These 4 countries face a ban on getting nuclear fuel and technology from other countries). Now bush administration taking interest to lift the ban from india and make india sign the treaty.

The danger is that pakistan have not signed it yet. They say they will do after india signs. Also USA and other 4 countries who owns the weapons have the right to do inspection on other countries by force if they suspect that the other country posess a nuclear weapon. The same they did with IRAQ ,claiming that they posess chemical weapon. Also if pakistan dont sign treaty ,they can do all sorts of nuclear tests and america wont mind that since america is unfairly suppying arms and funds to pakistan even if they know that pakistan is creating lots of terrorist activities against india. Thats why bush administration is trying their best to make india sign the treaty.I dont know why indian administrators are not taking note of these points and going ahead with the deal.

by Loan Shark on Jul 05, 2008 08:03 AM  Permalink
The inspection of weapons in Iraq was approved by a UN resolution. Iraq used chemical weapons against its own people. So, that case is different.

There is a change in america's perception of pakistan since 9/11 ... pakistan is now on the weapons watch list ... the arms supplied to pakistan are for fighting the taliban and so, they are not getting any new fighter jets or anything that could be dangerous to american interests in the neighborhood.

Dude u forget one thing 4 America Israel and India is same.To balance the power of Arams they hv no alternative than Israel , same way to balance to power of China they do not have any choice than India. This is simply a Power game ...no Love relations count here. Till China is NOT disintigrated like Russia, they need India. After that they will need Pakistan to disintrigate India.Presently Pakistans role is a political role and not Power role in world economic games.
