US Delegation meets PM
by Ajoy Sen on Jul 04, 2008 08:30 PM  Permalink

Yaar, how generous these American people are? A deal which is going to benefit India immensely, which would make MMS immortal in American History (not in Indian History), they are so eager to sign the deal as early as possible, so that the benefits of the deal are showered on gullible Indian common people who would dance in happiness forgetting the terrible hit of record-breaking INFLATION.
LONG LIVE Mr. BUSH and our friends ---- the Americans.

When do you think we will be able to attack the U.S. if we don't sign the deal? Remember, 35 years down the road, our very own light combat aircraft is finally flying with American engines and avionics.

Friendship with US is a liability
by Sameer on Jul 04, 2008 08:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yes, US used to be a great country but it is in a free fall. While CIA was funding Pakistan based Jaehadis to kill Indians in Kashmir and Punjab, there were three very important developments taking place which will prove fatal to US as super power

1. Rise of Euro as a currency.
2. Rise of China as manufacturing giant and China's policy to make friendship with Japan and Taiwan thus trying to prevent USA from fishing in troubled water
3. Unity of Islamic countires under OIC. They knew they could win directly against USA, so they also started to use deception while dealing with US.

US will be facing tough times for the next decade and if it ever recovers, it would be a miracle. US leadership is shortsighted, its state department babus are worse than our North block Babus and ill informed. US has no flexibility in policy--like a senile person.

India should strike a very hard bargain for any deal, US would give in. India is the only country which is still sympathetic to USA but this nuclear deal may turn away Indians from that position.

The west was trying to foment trouble in India for long. They were brain washing a small segment of Sikhs residing in the west since 1970s. Indira Gandhi played into their hands and made matters much worse pushing moderate Sikhs to believe the propaganda that Sikh religion was in danger.
No one gained from 20 years of violence, neither Sikhs nor India.

Wrong assumptions. US is under pressure because it is the only one that took on the Islamic jihadists while the rest of the world with Indian being at the forefront cowed down. The US is not going away, simply because no nation has the entrepreneurial ability of the US. No one can reinvent itself like US because nothing comes to you free here. No dole, no freebies..plus it has got great institutions to back its spirit. Association with the $14 trillion economy (nearly 30% of the world) is the only way for a developing country like India to benefit.

You are wrong
1. 14 trillion economy is way way inflated. It will be 1/5th of that.
2. US took on Islamic jehadis? - but against India they use jehadis even now.

US is not an honest friend.

European economy is already bigger than US. Chinese economy would overtake it in the next few years or even earlier if dollar falls and yuan appreciates.

India can handle both China and Pakistan alone, the problme arises because US keeps supporting Pakistan- and that is not going to chnage. Listen to some crazy foreign policy gurus in US like Stephen Cohen who 'wants to ride Pakistani tiger all the way'..probably taking US into a ditch as well. US invested so much in Pakistan which is now openly training Taliban to kill US soldiers. This si insane but that is US for you.

US policy still remains mired in 80s concept of keeping India boxed in South Asia.

India would benefit from weak US so that they stop this harakiri- but things take time to change.

Inside Story !!!!!!!!!!!!
by Akshay Singh on Jul 04, 2008 07:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Deal..Deal...Deal...N-Deal...
Why this n-deal become so much talking material as inflation is rising at more than 11% and so..
Actually, this hype on n-deal is created by UPA to divert the attention from this skyroketting inflation (11.6%).
But one thing i want to make clear here that this time congress has used the LEFT very-very well.
In fact still congress is using LEFT for this all and left has no information that whats going on. Acutally, left is a party of some of the people whose thinking are 50 years old and not only they that they think that they are the most intelligent people on this earth; over confidence indeed.

I think if n-deal will not be in focus then many indians may be demanding resignation from this govt on this inflation and price rise. But becoz of this n-deal hype everything is focusing on this a very very small issue as compare to this kind of inflation.

So the conclusion of this story is very simple as long inflation will be higy this n-deal will be in focus and that only congress/UPA want specifically.

Let us not mix up for our National interest !
by prabhat mohanty on Jul 04, 2008 07:56 PM  Permalink

-
Lots of Forum participants tend to mix up and talk extreme things either for or against the nuclear deal.

We must clearly understand that 123 agreement is for civilian use of nuclear technologies and resources.

And USA simply wants India to ratify that.

This is the reason we are clearly separating the reactor for Civilian uses and military uses for the International audience.

Our civilian reactors would be for International scrutiny. But not the reactors for military use.

We have to have clear "audit process" for the resources bought under 123 agreement.

We do not have such obligation for our reactors for military use and resources obtained from outside the 123 agreement.

The agreement text has been vetted by even BJP politicians and have praised in private.

The communists do not have any objections and all their 9 points have been addressed adequately by Indian negotiators.

But the actual story is different.

BJP needs to oppose. Because this has been secured for India by Sonia Gandhi and her team.

The communists need to oppose. Because they still can not do business with Amerians, even though China is a great beneficiary of American Wealth in today's time.

Who cares for the nation ?

The party is bigger than the Nation.

And some lunatics having great time and having a party seeing the Government of the day is not able to honour its International treaty.

Just think about it.
