Sonia and Mulayam
by kskumar on Jul 04, 2008 06:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a climbdown for Madame from the haughty heights which she had hitherto occupied. She will probably meet anybody if it helps to save the Government. She should have shown this humility at all times, not when in crisis alone. The whole government is becoming an exercise in farce, with the PM [ Manmohan Singh ], SPM [Super PM, Madame Sonia ] and the CPM taking turns in regaling us with their antics. Only they are playing the same joke again and again and the people have become bored. Will there be a change soon?

If you cannot say anything sensible, better go hang yourself. You cannot tolerate any criticism of the Congress and Madame Sonia do you? A loyal party worker I suppose. Don't worry, your loyalty will be rewarded amply someday.

You idiot, don't assume that anyone criticizing Congress is a BJP agent. It only shows up your pathetic intellect.

National Party
by man on Jul 04, 2008 06:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress party is not the best but definitely it is better than any political parties of today.
Take the the example of Nuclear deal, Congress has its own stand, may be right or wrong, Leftists have also their own stand and beliefs, but rest of the parties including major parties like BJP does not have their own stand.
Another example, BJP shouts & talk alot about hinduism, but when they were in power, they could not construct The Lord Ram Temple, in contrast to that it was Congress Govt. who got Ram Mandir unlocked in Ayodhya,BJP had also approved the controversial Land deal at Rameshwaram, due to efforts of congress govt. , it got stalled.
The land for Amarnath shrine Board was granted by Congress, BJP could not do this.

BJP should have some courage to sacrifice when the time comes, Congress has staked their govt. at centre for nuclear deal, the BJP could not do this for Ram Temple or Sec 370, giving the excuses of Alliance Govt. all the time. They should learn a lesson here.

here comes one, who talks not knowing anything. The programs executed by the Congress govt were initiated by BJP govt, which also includes the railway reform.
Doing away with art. 370 is not a joke. NC was supporting NDA. Now NC is in with UNPA.

My point is when congress can stake its govt. for nulear deal, why the BJP could not do, Was power more important for the BJP, than ideology

UPA and Left taking all TRP's. Very unfair Political Practice indeed!!!

It's been happening since last 4 years.

Between UPA and Left, they left no space and margin for NDA, not even for BJP.

George Fernades, NDA convenor has become an rare species. Not to be seen or heard.

During Dr Kalam's tenure, NDA marched every Friday to submit a memorandum as they thought the President was only theirs.

After Dr Kalam's tenure, that also has stopped.

So no more 70mm picture of NDA leaders standing before the Rashtrapati Bhavan. [ Poor Sushma never got the space even in the male dominated NDA picture.]

After awe and shock, Advani's political harakiri in Pakistan, NDA and BJP in particular lost the relevance.

Waiting for that magical september to come when the Govt. would fall as predicted by Astrologers to Bajpayee.

Alas! Stars not in favour.

Havans would not work.

Advani tried all tricks of Bajpayee to create a new avtar. Asked BJP to get close to Muslims and Christians. Even went to Sonia with folded hands. But the magic did not work.

A chance came when the Left hardened their stance.

But poor Advani still not in the picture. All TRP's are taken by UPA, Left and now SP. Nobody gives an inch to Advani !

Where is our new pseudo-secular Advani?

Doing havan? Check the ghee you are using Mr Advani? Can't trust the traders; even if they are hardcore BJP supporters.

Which side are you facing Mr Advani during havan? Sit 11 degree North West of Parliament.

Finding it difficult to assess where the PM chair in the Parliament?

Check Google Map.

To command TRP, you need to have viewership interest behind you.

Who would like to see Senile Advani and BJP's politics of opportunism?

You seem to be full of criticism for the NDA and leaving the Congress and the Left unscathed. What were the Congress and Left doing when the NDA was ruling? Issuing statements everyday about the "communal" agenda of the BJP etc. and wringing hands helplessly. Was there any positive contribution by them during the NDA rule? They opposed anything and everything under the sun if it had anything to do with BJP.

These were the parties which refused to even support the Pokhran-II in 1998 because they thought it would be "communal" if they supported it. May be they were afraid of displeasing somebody. On the other hand, when Mrs.Indira Gandhi conducted Pokhran-I in 1974, the then Jan Sangh welcomed it. What cheap minded persons we have as our leaders! And these are the very parties which you support.

You talk about Advani and Vajpayee. These were the leaders who supported Indira in 1974 after the Pokhran. They did not let ideological differences come in the way when national issues were at stake. Compare this to Sonia and the Left today.

All that you said about NDA and its leaders will apply to Congress, Sonia and her cronies and the Left. These people accused the BJP of communalising polity. Well, after the UPA came to power, they have even communalised poverty ! Only minority dominated districts will get development activities. They have communalised poverty, geography, economics [remember PM's statement that minorities will have first claim on national resources?]

How much I wanted Advani to take center-stage today !

But he is speechless because of this Sonia and Mulayam meeting.

May be you can't.

Politician, you and me
by Imsai Arasan on Jul 04, 2008 06:30 PM  Permalink

It is peculiar to see that most of the persons posting messages here abusing politicians. OK. Who is a politician. Don’t you realize that it is YOU and ME?.

Touch ur heart and tell me don’t YOU ever try to bye-pass a queue in your life?

How many times YOU try to use money or influence to get a job or transfer?

How many times YOU try to bribe officials to get YOUR job done?

Is there any office with more than 3 employees and without politics?

When you draw water from a spring you will get pure water but what if you draw it from gutter!!

The politicians are face of this society, more particularly YOURS and MINE.

So before blaming politicians just think about YOU and write

No system is perfect...as we move ahead in time loopholes keep exposing themselves and we must constantly keep making efforts to plug them and overhaul the system.

There were worse times when anti-defection law wasn't there..MPs and MLAs used to switch loyalties just for few thousand rupees

Then we had jumbo cabinets where chief ministers wud lure MLAs and make every tom-dick-harry a minister

All these anomalies got removed through legislation and now the next step, perhaps a harsh one, seems to ban regional parties from contesting Lok Sabha elexns

It would be interesting to see what comes out of this mess...till then laloos mulayams mayas and karunas will keep us entertained :)
