We don't need nuclear deal
by archana on Jul 03, 2008 09:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We don’t need nuclear deal.

We need a POPULATION DEAL.

India can meet its energy needs more easily and at a much cheaper price, if it brings down its POPULATION. As a bonus, many other problems in India will be solved, if the POPULATION comes down.

Food prices will come down. All other prices too will come down.
Schools, colleges and hospitals will be sufficient.
Global warming will be reduced.
India and the world will be a better place to live.

The country must unanimously follow ONE-CHILD-ONLY-POLICY. That is the only solution for many of India’s problems.

India’s population exceeded 110 crores.

India must bring its population down to 80 crores by 2015 and down to 50 crores by 2030.

This is the only way forward.

I am surprised nobody is emphasizing enough on this point. Neither the general public, nor the political parties, nor the government seems to be serious about it.

cheating
by archana on Jul 03, 2008 09:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Manmohan Singh is cheating the nation. He has not revealed the entire deal documents to the nation.

First, he must place the nuclear deal documents in the public domain.

Second, let all experts read the complete deal and comment on it.

Third, let the Parliament vote on the nuclear deal. The government must go ahead only if there is a unanimous consensus, just like the consensus they had on 27% OBC quota issue.

This deal ties India to the deal forever. India has no way of walking out of the deal. India is selling its sovereignty to USA. Read M K Bhadrakumar’s interview on Rediff. So, a vote in the Parliament is necessary.

You are right. There is something fishy. Congress is hiding that. Congress is not ready for a debate in parliament or referring the whole thing to a parliamentry comitiee. Daal mein kuch Kala hai or pur daak hi kala hai.

scientists appeal against nuclear deal
by archana on Jul 03, 2008 08:58 PM  Permalink

Nuclear energy from the current nuclear deal is at least 3 times more expensive than other sources of energy.

The forum of scientists recently appealed against the nuclear deal. Search for Rediff article on their appeal.

harmful nuclear deal
by archana on Jul 03, 2008 08:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The nuclear deal is very harmful to India.

India must invest 200 billion dollars under this deal. The American industry will gain from this deal.

India will lose its right to conduct nuclear tests. If India conducts a nuclear test, the nuclear cooperation will be stopped under the Hyde Act of USA.

Manmohan Singh is keeping the deal secret. It is not putting the deal documents in the open.

The nuclear deal is not in the interest of India. The conditions must be renegotiated. It must be explicitly stated that India reserves the right to conduct nuclear tests and that the nuclear cooperation must be binding on the US and other countries, even if India conducts nuclear tests.

Nuclear deal.
by Indian on Jul 03, 2008 08:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This problem between Left and Right and Wrong parties are mere politicising. We should show to world that we Indians are elastic. If they press us on nuclear fuel, we must try and develop our own methods of uranium refinement.

If not Uranium, we have Thorium.

No amount of nuclear energy will be sufficient for India.

The only way forward for India is reduce its population.

unfortunately presently we donot have method to enrich thorium for energy purpose. It will take another 50 years to achieve it. so only way to develop and sustain increasing need of energy is by using nuclear energy and other type of energy. Signing nuclear deal is crucial because it will allow us to get uranium from all nuclear states. Left is like dog who always brake when something is against china and towards US. They are bunch of stupid old fellows with nonsense ideology that is dumping states governed by them. Hence, you must neglect them. BJP before try to make nuclear deal with US during there tenure in power but it didnot work. they are opposing it for sake of opposition. Secrety to PMO in BJP government brijesh patel has already given green signal for it. Even Dr. APJ abdul kalam has given green signal. I suppose it is enough to suggest that nuclear deal is good for us. Use your common sense archana. Jai Hind

USA avoids digging oil on its shore citing many reasons and prefer to get from middle east and has a very large strategic stockpile.

Let's think India's uranium reserve in the same term.

Left - Leave the Country
by Om on Jul 03, 2008 08:36 PM  Permalink

This is a game played by Congi..in the last time the wanted to show that they are in favour of developing country...and don't care even if Left withdraws their support...and this time also they have made Momu Singh as scapegoat...if deal passes they will claim Congress made the deal, if it failed say Mamu made the wrong decision or its due to Left.
Next time if they win they will again make govt with Left..so Its a gameplay between Congri & Commi.

by Indian on Jul 03, 2008 08:45 PM  Permalink
Till date, nuclear energy is not economical in India. But if the diesel cost increases to double what it is today, nuclear energy could be comparable. But the main issue for India is that we have many nuclear power plants but there is no enough fuel to feed them. So, it means the investments in those nuclear plants is getting wasted.
