Pure conjecture and the REAL reason for the shortage of hindu girls is female abortion being done on the sly. How civilized, cultured and educated this community must be which aborts female foetuses and those who condone and participate in such barbaric acts are equally criminal. Talking about trying to shift the buck is just to be taken with a pinch of salt.

He has been invited by americans in the New York Bar Association to come over and speak to them.NY bar association has also protested against the sacking of judges in Pakistan. 80% of americans disapprove of bush and the neocons and their policies dont represent america.

RE:u dont need democracy/peace, but a big stick, up (u know where)

Organized religion is organized madness. Things will go on as usual. All these talk is time waste. The basic difference between Islam and other religions is that the 'State' does not legalize fundamentalism. For all other religions the State mandates, One-Law, Uniform Civil Code & Gender Equality. Christians, Jews, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus have the same value system in the 21st century; All of them have modernized. They all believe in One-Law, Gender Equality, Uniform Civil Code, Freedom, Democracy and "True" secularism. What matters in life is the intensity of our work and inner fulfillment. Neither archaic religion, nor pseudo modernity can save humanity. People who will continue to succeed, are one's who will cultivate talent, knowledge, action in themselves and in others and seek equality in laws, principles and values. Rest is all waste of time and energy. Every developed country in the world is secular and excel in life, work, sports, performance and productivity. Peace & democracy does not work w/ Islam.

You are right- Secular way of life works for the West. Which place a rabid mooselem rather live in? USA, of course. I see so many Middle Eastern people now migrating to USA- they love freedom, but they come here and do what? Build mosques, stick to Sharia, and demand special previleges, for example, private time for women in gym (e.g., Harvard recently banned all males from gym, when mooselem women are using the gym). Note my word- there is a limit to secularism, but when it comes to Islam, watch out.Too many mooslems- downfall of the place.Great example: France.

The most corrupt and mediocre countries of the world today are the Islamic countries. NEW YORK: India has been ranked a lowly 74, two steps down since last year, among 180 countries of the world on the worldwide Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), prepared by independent international agency Transparency International. However, corruption is much higher in Pakistan which occupies 140th place, a little below Iran, Libya and Nepal which are ranked 133, 134 and 135 respectively. Meanwhile, China which was ranked a joint 72 with India in 2007, slided a step down to occupy a place above its neighbour this year. Among other Asian countries, Russia is placed still lower on 145, while Sri Lanka occupies the 96th position and Maldives is ranked 90. B'desh was beyond computation. Those who have free oil and US support survive, rest are all into terrorism and blackmail for survival. There are two failed systems - Islam & Communism.

The most corrupt countries are not islamic countries but are African countries where christianity is the major religion. Islam and communism continue to thrive mind clear's puerile wish coz both are a way of life. Had Transparency International done a deeper study of India, they would have found India topping the list of the most corrupt nations for corruption is and has become a way of life for almost all the populace.

INCOHERENCE OF THE LAWYERS
by Vivek Harry on Jul 02, 2008 04:11 PM  Permalink

What is this Aitzaz Hassan crying in New York for? His own countrymen want to bring down Supreme Court and start implementing sharia law, this Justice chaudhary is no good, bring back Qazi system and implement sharia lawyer, any Islamic state which does not implement sharia law is an infidel state, and the taliban have every right to attack infidels according to sharia. If Mr. Husain wants democracy then let him talk of making Pakistan a secular state first, he wants Pakistan to be an Islamic state, then he says he wants democracy and western system of justice. He is totally confused. Anyway, the taliban will take over Pakistan soon and put these munafiq Pakistanis in their rightful place

Zardari is still roaming with begging bowl, speaking on behalf of 1.3 billion muslims living across the globe
by satyarthi on Jul 02, 2008 04:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pakistan could still be converted into a successful model of modernity for 1.3 billion Muslims worldwide and the help of the international community is needed for this, he remarked.

"We can't do it alone. We need the help of the world," he said. "If we succeed, we will contain extremism and terrorism. But if we fail, the world will fail with us."
