Nuclear Deal
by rajeev kapoor on Jul 01, 2008 04:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In present scenario BJP should back the Congress on Nuclear Deal, although with certain corrections. It will be a golden chance for to eliminate the regional parties from Indian politics which are creating hurdles in the development of India. India in the coming years will thus have two parties politics.

Kapoor sahab , MungeriLal ke Hassen sapno se bahar aaiye... this is India & here only Vote bank politics works... when BJP talks about Common Civil Code ( I also support this ) , Congress & other so called secular parties & our Honourable PM is talking about Reservation based on Religion & first right of minorities on our natural resources ( Minority appeasement ). All for Votes... Power.. how can you expect these Power hugry wolves to come togather for National Interest.. & Regional parties will always stay in India..till democracy is there..( though I'm also against it ).. as big leaders forget common public after winning election... these chuutbhaiya netas atleast keep them in good humor.. in order to make their roots strong...karte-dharte wo bhi kuchh nahi hai... Politics has become pure Business.. Dhandha hai is a good word for it.. isnt so ???

BJP and Congress are also like regional parties. They are also not getting much seats even with the support of regional parties. In the coming election the congress is not going to get more than 50 seats. Do you consider them big party in India. Only in 3 states there is BJP in India.

PM ready to face Parliament on Nuclear Issue - Is it necessary?
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 01, 2008 04:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When it is clear that the Parliamentary approval is not required for the Govt in power to negotiate or enter into international agreements of the kind like US Nuke deal, the contention of the PM to face Parliament before operationalising the deal is political incorrect. It is therefore called it politically redundant and deceitful by Communists. Besides, the timing of the withdrawl of support just a day before the PM leaves for Japan onj July 6 is something questionable. The intention is to see in what capacity the PM goes abroad to attend a meeting of such importance as G8 in Japan, as a head of the minority Govt. This is what exactly Communisits wants to exibit as they have hardened their stance against the PM. On his part, PM is mandated to attend the meet at Japan,as it is not linked with the Nuke deal.Besides, the PM may face parliament only for a vote of confidence in the event of Communists withdraw their support. Otherwise, it is open to the Govt in power to enter into or negotiate any international agreement for the benefit of the people of the country. The one such deal is in great controversy. PM is keen to go ahead with the deal irrespective of the stance taken by the Communists in their joint meeting scheduled to be held on 5th July. The Govt on its part has prepared a delegation to go to Vienna on 4th July as a prelude to sigining of the agreement. This is a good news to the people of this country as they are tired of blackmailing by the Communists and others.

RE:PM ready to face Parliament on Nuclear Issue - Is it necessary?

It is not correct to say that the N-deal can be signed without referring it to Parliament. Read Constitution of India article 246(1) "Parliament has exclusive power to make laws with respect to any of the matters enumerated in List I in the Seventh Schedule" to the Constitution. And Entry 14 in List I of the seventh schedule reads: "Entering into treaties and agreements with foreign countries and implementing of treaties, agreements and conventions with foreign countries." According to this provision we could have enacted a Law to protect our interest as per the 123 agreement. Instead of taking effort to protect our inter by enacting a law, we negotiated the deal. Now it is proposed to present the documents for debate in the Parliament. It can not be swallowed -in a democratic view.
Dr APJ was for energy independence and not energy security. So the 123 agreement should be aimed to achieve this aim.

When NDA was in power, Left parties never supported the decisions taken by the majority in parliament. Now why are they talking about it ?

They say majority in parliament is against the nuclear deal. The majority includes BJP. From when has Left parties started agreeing with BJP ?

Yes, the signing of Nuclear Agreement is in the long term interest of the country. One should remember that our immediate neighbours viz. Pakistan and China are nuclear nations. Moreover, nuclear fuel is required for running Reactors in Nuclear Power Plant, which can be made available by signing the Agreement. Majority of the educated people in this country favour the PM's decision to go ahead with signing of the Agreement, irrespective of objections from the Leftists, who are more interested in the welfare of China.
