In the absence of any real devolution of power or political freedom, Tamils have no other choice in Sri Lanka. Independent Eelam in traditional Tamil HOmelands.
Tamils in SL have to rule their Lands like their ancestors if the SInhalese cant give them equal rights.
All right thinking people must support this initiative.
SriLankkan Govt should give equal rights to all citizens in that island irrespective of their language and religion. THIS WILL STOP ALL THE PROBLEMS. Tamils have a problem everywhere they go. Srilanka is just one example. they are facing the heat now in Malaysia. The problem with them is they cannot mingle with the locals and become one amongst them. Nut cases they are. No wonder anti tamil sentiments are running high in sri lanka.
I really wish Sri Lankan govt puts an end to this menace of LTTE once for all. Tamils are making all these sounds of UN recognition etc because they are getting decimated in the hands of the lankan army.
It is best India should keep away from this problem or help sinhalese govt to end this menace.

If the same situation occurs for other indians like manoja who have settled in Srilanka, thy will rotate their head for whtever Srilankan govt is saying.. Even thy will send their mother/sister to do Prostitution in Srilanka and lead the life with that money comes from prostitution.. Who knws even manoja can doing it in India itself..

Manoja before writing and vomiting out your anti Tamil venom. Please read history first. The Tamils did not go to Sri Lanka. A certian section of them were taken by the British mainly as indentures labourers. However the conflict is between the native Sri Lankan or Eelam Tamils and the Sinhalese. The native Tamils have been living in the country for thousands of years and have ruled thmesleves unti European colonsation. infact around 50% of the present day Sinhlas are descended froem recent South Indian tamil migrants who only migrated from South Tamil Nadu and Kerala ( this is when Kerala was Tamil speaking too) around 600 to 100 years ago. There ws not coutry called Sri Lanka. Prior to European clonisation, there were three kingdoms Jaffan Kandy and Kotte. The Jaffan kingdom was Tamil and the other two kingdoms were nominally Sinhala but ruled by Tamil kings. Infact the so called SInhla aristocratic families are almost 100% south Indian origin. The Portuguese and the Dutch ruled the Tamil and Sinhala spseaking parts of the country as seperate colonies. They recognised that these two people were disctinct and historically had been mutualy antagonsitic towards each other. The British captured the Tamil/Sinhala kingdom of Kandy form the Nayakkars and also the independent Tamil chiefdom of Vanni around 1820 and then united the whole island for administrative convennience. I hope you will calmour for Indian government support for the Fiji govt to discriminate Hindians too.

Where are you. You are talking about the hill country tamils. Hill country tamils were brought by british from OOTY region of TN to work in tea estates of Lanka. They are all back to OOTY during Indira period. Do you know Indira and Chandrikas mothers Bandaara signed a pact to take back tamil who came from TN back to TN.
These tamils who are living in ELLAM(srilanka) are origins of that land. Btw, pls read history before writing anything here.
When CHOLAS first capital TANJORE is with india, his second Capital JAFFNA should be with India. After Cholas declines sinhalese took over the region from Tamils. Do remember this.
The current tamils in ELLAM(Srilanka) are descendant of CHOLAS the great.

Yes this is the kind of message that will agitate any Tamil. I think if majority of Indians are as id1otic-ass like you then very soon Tamils will be having problems in India as well. Fortunately, majority of Indians are not id1otic ass like you, they are friendly and loving.
Lankan Tamils face terrible situation than people of kosovo, East Timor and recent somaliland faced.
Enforcement of Illegal laws, atleast 5 numbers from expelling of Tamil to India to Sinhala only act, Marginalizing Tamils in education/employment starting from 1956.
As many organized state supported riots and slaughtering, 1958, 1977, 1983 are major ones which had killed at least 65,000 Tamils.
At least 4 elected MPs had been assassinated by government paramilitaries and agencies for voicing human rights violations of the militarist govt.
Even few days back the dismayed, helpless SL Army had killed 20 school children by blowing up a school bus.
What more reason people need to fight for ther freedom???
Todays communication mode had made the whole world to see the happenings of Sri Lanka but still India is blind and biased for peculiar reasons.
Eelam as a nation will emerge in near future. Nothing can prevent it.

Everyday you get to hear the news about people getting killed in Srilanka, of which most of them Tamils. If the killing continues at this rate, the question arises whether after a gap of some years, whether any Tamils would be alive there in Srilankan island? Does Prabhakar really wants peace or he would like to continue terror activities at the cost of innocent Tamil civilians? Its high time some concrete steps should be taken by India / UNO to stop the genocide of innocent Tamils getting killied every day like flies. What Prabhakaran actually wants is getting the island empty of Tamils.

Mr k p Always check before you write. Dont assume that all the readers are ignorant of history. Your claims are false. Tamil community has been living in Srilanka for thousands of years. A 7th century tamil scripture praises Lord Muruga of Kadhirkamam (a place in Ealem). The northern parts of srilanka was under pandya and chola empires for several centuries. Though I dont support LTTE, your claim that Velupillai Prabhakaran as malayalee is false. The Sinhala government is equally to be blamed for their irrational approach towards the problem.

Dear Gazanfar, The aryan invasion theory is the most discredited theory among learned scholars. Please do not quote spurious theories which have no solid proof. Even though they might have been taught in schools. We all are inhabitants of this ancient land for thousands of years. Aryan invasion theory was conceptualised by an english historian. This was aplot to divide the country. He must be still laughing in his dirty grave thinking that we are suckers to have believed his theory.

Tamil Ealem problem is very complicated. The early inhabitants were Tamil Hindus and Buddhism entered Srilanka during 2 B.C under the son of Ashoka. The Sinhala government always turned deaf ears towards tamils for years since independence. This led to the arise of LTTE (of course, today LTTE is an unlawful organization which should be banned). K P, without knowing the real history and ground situation, blaming some community for no fault of theirs is absolute foolishness.
Tamils started in a non-violence way from 1940s...But Sinhala governments never showed interest to solve the issue..Finally Arms were took to fight. and Srilanka now pays for that..
