i agree with you that modi has been winning convincingly - and in modern time. development is exactly the all-embracing issue for the hindus, who are now impatient and know very well in their hearts that their time has come. shiv sena simply is not there; i doubt it seriously if it is even in that league. gopinath munde needs to realize that it is his opportunity to shine like modi. should bjp go alone and do well all on its own, uddhav will see the writing on the wall for his own good and that of hindus in maharashtra. it seems to me maharashtra can't afford to keep on with the failed alliance beholden to now old senile bt's whims.

What's there to explain in that there are millions of idiots such as yourself in Maharashtra who vote for SS? Do you know the Marathi population in MP, Chattisgarh and UP? There are more Marathis there than Hindi siders in Maharashtra. So try to behave like an India otherwise you can have your own nation of Maharashtra full of people who only know how to be clerks (karkoons) with no management or business skills. You people will starve to death of the Gujjus and Marwadis don't start businesses to feed your families. Moreover, like any other state in India, moment you guys have a seperate nation state you will start fighting based on caste, mahars against maratha, brahmins against telis and so on and so forth. A caste based civil war will await you till caste based nation states are formed. I personally know that the Marathi speaking telis from Maharashtra freely marry the Hindi speaking telis from MP/UP but they wouldn't marry a marathi speaking maratha, explain this? Hypocrites!

Abhe the only marathi speaking people in UP are in your dreams. Even bhaiyyas want to get out of UP and i dont blame them. I would too. Regard parochialism, first look at UP and bihar before complaining to others.
And yes i would rather have a maharashtra full of marathi speaking "clerks" as you call it, and if marvadi's and gujjus want to leave fine. Let them, they are free to go.

Gujrati VS Marathi
by Mallika Sherawat on Jan 29, 2008 10:17 PM  Permalink

I am gonna put my money on Marathi. They are powerful. Gujrati is business savvy. It will be better if Gujrati just make money in Bombay and keep quite. And if they want Modi, then its better they move to Gujrat. Because now a days Gujrat has become a land of oppurtinuity, Growing at 12%.

Bal and Pawar should join forces...
by Peter Parker on Jan 29, 2008 06:51 PM  Permalink

Its the right time for Maharashtra to kick the delhi-based national parties in the rear and go for an all marathi regional party. Judging from the response the rest of the country has towards Pawar, its highly unlikely a maharashtrian will ever be accepted as a PM, despite his/her qualifications. So why waste time promoting national unity and such other crap. Its better to circle your wagons within the state and defend it against parochial bhaiyya domination.

Rightly said. Thakare beleives in intimidation and nothing less to achieve his selfish goals. It is a matter of time when the theory will backfire on his party.

Already NDA partners (except Shivsena) have accepted the leadership of BJP in the country, as the sure way to come to power in the next parlment elections. Shiv Sena is is mainly trying to prevent BJP's growth in Maharshtra. But they will have to accept the BJP as the boss unless they want to sit in permanent opposition benches.

Sena pattern doesn't work
by Vikas on Jan 29, 2008 04:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

"Thackeray's remarks that only the Sena pattern -- and not Modi -- will work in Maharashtra"

But Sena pattern didn't work in Maharashtra in 2000 & 2005 elections !! Congress NCP is in power for 8 years !!
Even Shivsenas big leaders Rane and Raj Thaku split the party. What did Bal do at that time !!

Look at Modi, he became CM for the record 3rd time in a row. He single handedly triumphed the party twice in succession !!

Thackeray is jealous of Modi's achivement. He is scared that BJP will grow in Maharashtra if Modi campaigns.

sena pattern like the left is only taking ill of outsiders (the section of outsiders they talk against keeps changing). It does nothing for Marathi manoos let alone other people in Maharashtra. Some talk of reservations will never help the Manoos in the long run but they keep talking about it. Moreover they support unions of traffic violators who have a tiger and Jai Maharashtra pasted on rear glass. I really dont understand their pattern but it is very negative and obviously doesnt work.

Bal is useless. He can't keep Shiv sena from splitting. He can't make Shivsena win in Assembly elections. He is jealous of Modi. He knows that in next elections, if Modi campaings, BJP will get more seats than Sena, and BJP will demand CM post. So, Uddhav can never become CM. Due to his envy, he is trying to prevent BJP from getting CM post.

The RSS, which claims to be a socio-cultural organization, is the main think tank of several fundamentalist bodies in India, including the (BJP). The RSS functions as the principal guardian of Hindu ideology.

MIM, watch your thoughts and language. Who gave you the idea that RSS is the principal guardian of Hindu ideology? It is like saying some obscure sect of wahabis are the guardian of Islam.
