I agree to ALL the good words posted here in reply to this article. We can never thank or do enough to their (soldiers) honor. It is priceless.
But what I am amazed at the conversation that the article talks about. I can not Imagine ANY one of us ("civilians") ever questioning our army friends the way this article has mentioned. Or is this just a Media's creation to attract us to read through.
I wish they rather print articles for mass awareness on this issue or on how we can contribute towards the cause of betterment of our Armed forces rather than comparing each side.
it seems this news is there for two days kindly do change yar. lot of news are there. like Hujj leader killed in J&K lot of people will shout against Muslims etc so it will be fun

Hahahahahaah nambi will make you to stand near our LOC..you be pissing in ur pants there no fun
These are the true unsung heroes of India, who know the worth of their motherland and will pay the price of safeguarding it with their blood. These are the few chosen ones who sacrifices and toil will go always almost go unnoticed. they do not live a glamorous life.
We remember almost each and every dialogue from Sholay, yet how many of us remember the names of 5 or more soldiers/Officers who sacrificed the lives defending us during the Kargil conflict. A war that was fought in the recent past, not too long ago.
These men put their lives on the line for our sake. I'm proud of my Indian Army/Navy and Airforce.
It's high time, we wake up and realise their worth, else we will have so many Engineers and Doctors, but no one to bleed in war.

It's extremely shocking to see these commissioned military officers getting such a low pay. When you see the other side of coin, an average south indian actress Nayanthara is paid an amount of Rs.50,000,00 (Rupees Fifty Lakhs)by a producer, just for acting in a seven minute long song in a movie. See the fate! Everything is happenning in India!

While I appreciate part of your logic Mr. Ganeshan Pooludaiyan, why don't you extend the assets/remuneration of wealthy people such as Lakshmi Mittal/Mukesh Ambani/Bill Gates...?
Not only in India, the situation is pretty similar everywhere.
I Salute all the brave cadets, officers and jawans of Indina Army..it is your sacrifices and bravery that makes India strong..and kudos for rediff to bring this special issue..plz we need more real heros enough of cricketers n movie stars
