Let us all think of the nation as one and understand the sacrifices of the slain soldiers cannot be dealt as routine. These are war heroes and no less than our higher mortals-film stars, cricketers etc. The new central Govt.will surely ensure that the families of the slain soldiers are given prompt settlement of the announced awards and entitlements. The erring Govt Officials be dealt with firmly by making them accountable. This has to be a punishable crime. Its nice to bring the news of Col. Vasant Venugopal. He was a brave soldier and my cousin too. happy to be associated with a person like him. Anoop Satyan, Nairobi
It is amazing how, in India, cricketers, film stars and politicians are always in the limelight...... little attention is paid to the bravehearts like Col. Vasant. Who do we blame..... the media for not giving them enough spotlight or us, the civilians, to whose taste the media caters????? One can only hope for the very best for his family and peace for his soul........ JAI HIND.
Especially Our beloved Colonel "TIGER" Venugopal. I will celebrate 31 july every year from now as "The Rise of Soldiers Day" and will call the day as "Inspire"
