We Indians finger french that you could not bring your darling to Indi so The French finger us back as revenge announce the award for Taslima Nasreen. In India we have thousands of Indian Writers, Artists who are far more better than Taslima Nasreen. Their work is constructive and commendable. Why Taslima Nasreen. This is just play. Ask them to give this award Rohinton Mistry Vikram Seth Amit Chaudhuri, Anita Desai, Arundhati Roy, Shashi Tharore, Upamanyu Chatterjee many many more. their work is far more better than Taslima. This is just a play. We Indian should use our brain. Anything Anti-Muslim open mouth start foul, abusive language. Be sane, judge and act rightly.
Mr. President should watch the republic day parade on 26th Jan 08 for which his visit is programmed and return honourably. All other good deeds he can do at home country. What is the hurry! Human rights or woman rights and freedom of expression, all lose meaning when Taslima complains she is not allowed to move freely in Delhi or in Calcutta for her safety concerns though. Any one succeeding in expressing against powerful is unsafe irrespective of fact or fallacy of content. Who is powerful in India?
I wud luv to Bang MF hussain ki pichwade mein.. y can not he paint his own mother and sister naked ??may be he is sitting in dubai and painting his own sisters and mother naked paintinggs which he will auction there itself to sheikhs

What M.F. Hussain did is a pervert and abhorrent act. His act cannot be justified in the name of freedom of expression and he should be dealt with severely. Islam doesnt allow sketching any woman in nude let alone a Hindu goddess. As Quran is explicit in its verse: Do not revile their gods else they would revile Allah in ignorance.
I think government has taken a right decision. If the French Government wants to honor Taslima, let them call her to France. She neither belongs to India nor does the French government have any right to honor her in India since it is a sensitive issue for a particular religion. This is interference in the communal fabric of India.

Let us make a huge revoluion in India and throw the exisitng ploitical system and plotitcians in total seal if not in literal sence. They are certainly not the majority be it Hindu or Muslim. India was and should be of people with liberal faith, clulture and mind. These exisitng politician will neither live themselves as they take partisan attitude nor they allow us to live our life. Lets put a stop to this lingering disease in the hope of time will heal.

India is lacking behind to other countries because of the people like you who always talk and thinks negative and criticized everyone except yourself for any problems. We always blame politicians and government for every problem in India even if they are doing anything good also. Let me tell you We deserved the Leadership we Elect..

Yes there cant be better truth than this :"We deserved the Leadership we Elect." Well said. But thats exactly why our country has repeatedly elected politicians who join the chorus of people who shout from their rooftops that "they get sentimentally hurt" because somebody said something! And thats why we have brought down our country which once was a land where free thoughts flowed to a country full of people for whom nothing is more important than their religions. And thats why we are a country full of people who cant stand any view than what they hold to be true.

I would like to know if Sarkozy and his likes have read Taslimas book and Quran to verify if she has spoken the truth. Its a welcome decision by the government. If someone writes baseless things in the name of freedom of speech against my Hindu or Christian brothers, I would be the first person to oppose it. Freedom for speech is not a license to irresponsible behavior.

Yes no doubt it's a shame. But all those who have commented I have a question for you - M F Hussain have hurt Hindu sentiments. Would your reaction be same if the government had acted similarly for him? I doubt. They would have all written congratulatory notes. It's not about freedom of speech or freedom of expression or anything, it's about hurting the other community
RE:Shame

If someone gets hurt its their problem and its for them to go to a psychiatrist and get cured of this disease of getting hurt for anything and everything. Of late we are becoming a country full of people who are ever ready to get "sentimentally hurt" at the drop of a hat - this includes Hindus, christians, muslimms, sikhs....all. Its really sickening. Are religious gods and scriptures properties of some groups..? Everyone has a right to look at and comment on these things the way they want. The law against those who "sentimentally hurt" others' religious feelings shd be replaced by a law against those who claim to "get hurt sentimentally"!

National interests should be prime for any nation. Indian government knows their people well. Sitting in USA, one can't judge politic and feel its temperature in India. Why can't Sarkozy, honour Taslima in their own land. Why Indian should suffer the agony because of an award of a foreign country to a foreign person. It cant be in Indian Interests.

Is that me whom u r refering to..? If so u got it wrong. I am very much here in India! And by the way whats wrong if somebody from US tell these things..? What matters is whats told and not who has told.
What the hell is India's problem if the french govt wants to honour a bangladeshi writer - a writer who the indian govt is not even able to protect? . The indian govt cannot protest the communal goings on written about in lajja to the bongdes govt. They cannot oppose hussain's work. instead , they try to honour husain and oppose the honouring of taslima?????

People who speak for the freedom of speech and expression should also see the fate of MF Hussain, who is hiding for his life. There is no escort for an Indian citizen in India. But foreigner is enjoying royal treatment just because she is against Islam, its shame on Indian government and communal people.

NDTV was indulging in Hindu-baiting when, ignoring the sentiments of lakhs of Hindus, it went ahead with trying to canvass support for a pervert like M.F.Husain, who caricatured Hindu Deities in obscene manner and Bharat Mata in the nude. Neither Muslims nor Christians tolerate any denigration to their religion, and the foreign-funded media and politicians pander to their sentiments, whereas they deliberately trample upon Hindu sentiments. These channels should be asked to wind up, if they want to continue provoking Hindus.

Give Bharata Ratna to Taslima Nasreen for her courage against secularist terrorists.

Ahmedabad: A group of Hindus who got hurt by the staunch Anti Hindu stand of Communist Channel NDTV ransacked its office here. Failed miserably in their efforts to malign Modi during election is now trying to hurt Hindus by airing Hindu hatred ness and there by they are trying to induce violence from Hindus, aimed to Malign Modi Government. The selection of Brazen Hindu Hater and Sexual pervert M.F.Hussein by NDTV as a nominee for Bharath Ratna in their SMS poll was an open challenge to the tolerance level of Nationalistic Hindus.
Forget this minor issue. We need to look at bigger problem and solution.
To end slavery of thousands of years to foreign rulers (Musalmaans, western christians and then atheist/communists/convert Nehru-clan), we need to declare India a Hindu country.
And:
Ban casteism. Ban conversions. Ban communism. Bring population controls. Bring uniform civil code.
