In an article in the party mouthpiece Saamna, Sena chief Bal Thackeray has a taken on BJP's poster boy, Narendra Modi.
Thackeray said that the Gujarat Chief Minister came to power because of the 2002 Godhra riots.
Thackeray said, ''Modi was benefited by Godhra and the Guajrat riots. It is because of these that he came to power, people of Gujarat began to feel that he is their saviour.''
''Muslims are scared of him. But when power goes to our head, you can't say how a person will behave,'' he added.
Indicating that the Hindu voters in Maharashtra would not take take to Modi's brand of politics, Thackeray wrote that people in Maharashtra are smart and will not accept anybody so easily.
This criticism comes just days after the Shiv Sena objected to a Bharat Ratna for Atal Bihari Vajapayee.
US President George Bush and his top administration officials issued hundreds of false statements on the threat posed by Iraq in the two years following the 9/11 terror attack, according to a study by Center for Public Integrity, a non-profit journalism organisation.
The study counted 935 false statements made by eight top Bush administration officials in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues which it said "were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanised public opinion" in the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both, according to the study titled 'Iraq- The War Card: Orchestrated Deception on the Path to War'.
"It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al-Qaida," according to Centre founder Charles Lewis.
The false statements included in the analysis were made by Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and White House press secretaries Ari Fleisher and Scott McClellan, The Center said in a statement.
Bush, with 260 false statements, led the scorecard, followed by Powell with 254.
"These false statements dramatically increased in Aug
It must be good for Sri Lanka , not to depend on India which is run by an unturstworthy coterie sympathetic to the terrorist organsation like LTTE. The irresponsible group of politicians forming part of the ruling coterie in the cneter will also realise their folly of supporting the terrorists on ethnic and linguistic grounds .They are causing irrepairable damage to the image and reputation of this country. Those political parties like the DMK and the deteriorated communists should be banned in the interest and safety of this country.

you need to simmer down although you may be right about the political views. India choose it leaders because India have seen so much throughout the 60 years because of one and only one thing, illiteracy. I think if we were to bring education as first priority in every single state of India, we would literally conquer the world in a whole different manner as the way we are doing it now with the Americas and Europe. Although I may not have any say because I have lived most of my life in Abroad, I have spent most of my time defending my culture and heritage while others mocked my culture. Today, I am extremely proud of my country, proud of my people, proud of my leader who contributed great amount of time and energy in bringing up the country to where it is today. Whether they have criminal records or not, India is recognized as one of the most powerful country in the world unlike 20 years ago, no one knew where the hell the country was in the map. Bravo India. I bow to you all. I understand Pakistan can do this as well. Pakistan has lot to offer as well but many obstacles lies in the way as in illiteracy and strong leader who can really lead the country to victory. I pray that Pakistan and India unite as friends and great allies as we are too close to be enemies forever. God speed.

thats good, so there wont be any more threat or beatings from missonaries to tribals, if u look serously into this conversion , if they want to help poors they can do , instead of that what they r doing is helping poor only if they convert,so the govt or court has to see thiese things else local tribals will handle???, cuttings trees from forest land and distributing to tribals is not a help... govt can do that alos, tribals laos can do without missionaries help
