A few weeks ago Bharat Verma wrote an article criticizing DRDO and questioned even the existence of such an organization at the cost of tax payers money and NOW THIS!! Whom are we gonna believe?? 2 exactly opposite and contradictory reports in a space of 2 weeks!! God save India from such untruthfulness and debauchery...

True but i think Bharat Verma forgot to mention the amount of technical knowhow that DRDO has achieved over the years. Getting things from outside without knowledge, of how to piece them together is equally dangerous. Why should we be at the mercy of outsiders, when we have the talent within. Having said this i think what DRDO has achieved is remarkable.

Yes i think the scientists have to put in more effort now, to get us the best level possible in the closest possible time.

a DEVELOPING COUNTRY CANNOT AFFORD TO REINVENT THE WHEEL: DO r&d ON TECHNOLOGIES FREELY AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE IN THE NAME OF SELF-RELIANCE. THE GOVT of INDIA HAS WASTED PRECIOUS NATIONAL RESOURCES ON THE MBT, LCA, and OTHER TECHNOLOGIES THAT ARE FREELY AVAILABLE AND FOR WHICH THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN SECURING AFTER SALES SUPPORT. ALL THIS IS AT A PRICE BUT IF SOMEONE CHOOSES TO DROP THEIR COMMITTMENTS ON A CONTRACT THERE ARE POSSIBLY STIFF LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE PENALTIES THAT CAN BE BUILT INTO THE CONTRACT. SO IN SHORT WASTE TAX PAYER'S MONEY ESPECIALLY THE SMALL BUSINESSMAN WHOM THE fIN mIN HAS FOUND NEW WAYS TO TORTURE. WHEN WILL ACCOUNTABILITY BEGIN FOR GOVT MINISTERS AND OFFICIALS. FOR SMALL BUSINESSES JUST HAVE TO CLOSE WHEN THEY SPEND MORE THAN THEY CAN EARN; BUT THE GOVT CAN KEEP RAISING TAXES WHILE THE NEEDY AND REALLY POOR PEOPLE ARE LEFT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES

Aditya, don forget that these things are freely available today to India. This was not the case earlier. Today India is an ally of the west & US. Remember we were not an ally earlier. The west dumped resources into countries like Pakistan, no wonder we got left out. Blindly criticizing is not uttering facts. Even after Pokhran we were under economic sanctions, in these times this very organization meat our needs. It was not "Bharat Verma" who made it up for us. Correct me if i am wrong.

And how reliable do you think news on rediff is. Yesterday we heard "Two Indians among those arrested in Spain". By evening we get a better version "No Indians among those arrested in Spain".

Rediff, don be in a hurry to publish anything.

Who is Bharat Verma? What are his qualifications? When everyone even witness saw the Akash score a direct hit on a ballistic why is he denying it? It is very significant achievement not minor one.

Further when foreign imported items have so many problems, when bofor and T-90 have not yet transferred their technology to us despite the high rates. Despite flaws in design of foriegn goods. Further recently Barak, and past of Bofor that large kickback are involved as to reason the no induction of indigenous goods.

Further when our government has spent only 2000 corers in 25 years for missile program verses spending 10,000 corers on joint venture with Israel, Isn%u2019t the achievement of our scientist that we have the Agni III, a missile defense, NBC warfare, radars, electronic warfare, helicopters, jets, tanks, sonors, torpedos, secure communication system, munitions etc on a shoe string budget.

Beside MTCR which denies us the technology for advance missile system, we have broke through sanction and develop technology that whole nation can be proud, and whole world understands the significance of our scientific development that we are being pursued by several countries, French, America, Russians, Israel, Brazil, South America etc for joint development, and even China, Britain have agreed that we should have a permanent seat in UN security council, besides, Russia, and France.

Last history states that foreign missile can become duds, if the missile manufacture give the sec
