The tussle avoided
by Y Singh on Jan 19, 2008 07:32 PM  Permalink

With Burns 'gone', the tussle between the Italian Congress and CPI(M) is avoided. This seems to be a clever strokeplay by either. As comies are more Chink-oriented, Italian camp could be a factor. Only Burns/GWB etc knows.

No it went when Hyde was passed
by Sameer on Jan 19, 2008 06:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Nuclear deal died with Hyde act and denial of Visa to Modi.
America became greedy in its goals and thought they can push NPT in dusguise.
It is typical of US habbit to stab in the back who trust her.

Good the deal (sell out) is gone.

Sameer, You can join with the traitors like Karat. And people like you made China and Paki very happy. You guys are living in the cold war era. Not in the 21st century. Good luck to you all.

No US is living in cold war era. The core of nuclear deal was that the deal will not affect India's nuclear independence and in return India should not get benefit from any nuclear technology that west brings.

Hyde act put too many strings. US is following camel in the tent story. they are chipping away India's program at every stage- Hyde act, 123 agreement, IAEA and then final US congress approval. The deal is looking worse than even NPT.

Now it is back to 'cap, roll back amd eliminate' goal by US.

Dump the deal ( sellout).
As far the Chnia and Pakistan is concerned- if west really cared about that, they would be siding with nationalist NDA government but western media is carrying out unpredented assault on BJP. US intentions are not good.

Sameer, No , it seems you are one hell of a ignorant peron. You have no clue about the US. Well speaking BJP they are the one started this deal. They are not helping by paying politics. It is sad to see they are singing along with the undemocratic political parties like CPM and CPI. Countries doing business with the US and EU are doing great. Look around you, countries like Japan, south korea, UAE, Oman,Kuwait, they are all US allies. Did Japan losts anything to the US? They are selling their cars and other consumer goods like crazy in the US. Same with South Korea. What seems to be our problem. Our problem is very simple. JUST PLAYING POLITICS. NOT FOR THE NATIONAL INTEREST. GOOD LUCK . US has nothing to loose.Gain for the Commies and the Islamist in India.

NRI's
by AJAY KUMAR GOEL on Jan 19, 2008 03:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is insane to call NRI's as idiots or traitors or those left the motherland for some money. If leaving motherland for better future is wrong, then every person should remain in their own colony or the maternity hospital throught their life because the motherland may not defined by political boundries called a nation, but it is the place where one is born. At the most one should never leave the cultural and linguist region, while the citizens move freely from one place to other place and states and regions within the political boundries of the country. It may be noted that Indian foreign exchange situation has been strong due to remittances sent by NRI's. India is the highest foreign remittance receiver country in the world from NRI's only. Instead of sitting idle in the country, cursing the system and the Govt for all the bad things, they ventured out and took with them the BRAND INDIA.

Losers often say all sorts of things. Don't get yourself upset on that. We all know that people who have left India for other places have not given up their loyalty. A much greater per centage of people are sitting in India and doing things that are against India's interest. Including people who treat the fellow Indians badly while sitting in India.

Very well said john. People like Karat and the Left wing goons are fine example. They carry China's flag over their shoulder and worship foregin leaders like Lennin, "Butcher"Stalin, and Mao. Can these people who say bad about over seas Indians (NRIs) what they have to say about these Communist traitors pulling the contry down in order to please the Chinese leadership? They are the real SOBs of India.

good for india's future
by shahab ali on Jan 19, 2008 03:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its good that the Indo US Nuclear deal has come off. We must know that the US is hell bent in towing in line all Nuclear countries. Already they have Pakistan in their fold. I believe the concerns put forward by CPM is true. We must see that the NSG hasn't approved of this and recently the Australian government has also retracted from supplying Nuclear fuels to india. Instead of relying in more nuclear fuels we must try for other sources of energy.

We would prefer no energy rather than going in for a n-deal with US. Its a blessing in disguise, that he is resigning. Or, I have other feeling that this is yet another trick of US to rush India into signing this deal.

Lest hope this deal falls off for good. And being Muslim or non-muslim, every true Indian will wish that this deal does not come through.

shahab ali, Your name explains everything. Your CPM leaders are not serving India's interest. They are looking after thier "motherland" China. You on the other hand worrying about Pakistan. Shame on you. No matter how much you guys try. By the way US still the largest trading partner of India.
