The WB Government is probably the only Leftist ever to exploit and use violence to subjugate farmers (Proletariat) and forcefully occupy land belonging to poor people. So much for all their philosophy and principles of egalitarianism. It just goes to show that they have lost all their moral basis and are a bunch of hypocrites, who are finally embracing capitalism. The major problem in democracy is - it doesn't allow to finish a problem in its bud rather it allows to blossom it. People are unnecessarily critical to administration and police force (I don't want to say they are above criticism). Nindigram was disconnected from rest of the world for months - killing hundreds of innocent people by goons (i don't want to classify their political indentities) - even these very press people (who are so critical about Nandigram incident) were not able to enter the area in those days. I think it was quite clear by then - there cannot be any normalcy in Nandigram without some sort of force application. So in March last year what admin/police wanted to do are - stop violence and bring back normalcy - the only sensible step given the situation. There is no doubt police fired and few people died. But for that the criminals(cowards) who have pushed the innocent people to police firing should be blamed not police force. Do people want police not to fire even if the situation demands. Then why are they given guns and arms? They can be given sweets to distribute among the criminals. We should have encouraged police to take control of the area. In stead of that we criticized police and the protestors (albeit backed by criminals) started thinking victorious and started more violence. After that what happened everybody knows. If we allowed to resolve the problem in bud, today all these rights report, CBI, High Court and rediff readers forum would not

Why you shoose not to classify the goons. They were the same CPM goons sponsored by Govt who killed innocent people there. Also what about the political goondas coming in police dress and firing? If there were a law and order situation, police should have intervened before they allowed the killings there.

Now that the commie leaning human rights commission has blasted the CPM, other commie supporters like Sahadevan should stop spreading lies and accept the wrongdoings gracefully.
