Over centralisation of financial and political powers is the root cause of mis-administration and mismanagement of resources leading to inequitable development causing widening of the existing gap between the rich and the poor as well as the development of backward regions.Devolution of financial powers and political independence at the district and village levels is perhaps the answer.All development plans need to be initiated and imlemented at the lowest levels but co-ordinated at successive higher levels.Division of states on the basis of economic backwardness as is being suggested would be disastrous like Jharkhand and Chhatisgarh as they would not have the resources to be self sufficient in any manner.

Poorvanchal, with mother tongue Bhojpuri, shall be granted a ststehood as it is enshrined in the constitution to have linguistic states. And that right no one can take away from the Bhojpuris.
Also, all governments till now in U.P. have discriminated with poorvanchal. If not to divide, then compensate the difference in Per head expenditure between East U.P. and West U.P., by putting new industries and other infrastructures so that industrial development pace is increased.

Well, it is a good way to create more and more posts of chief ministers, ministers, IAS's, government officials of different sorts. Also more persons to loot already scarce resources. These useless fellows are not doing their jobs for which they are elected / selected and always talk bullshit to divert the attention of public from pressing issues.
I hate leaders like her. As such we are behind in developing as a disciplined country, and with idiotic people like her we are never going to improve. Such incompetent idiots should be extradited from the country and kept in exile. If you let them they will divide the country into a billion pieces and vie for a bigger pie of the centre's allocation of funds. I absoultely hate her and all such politicians; and I am limiting myself to decent words because this is a public forum.
Madam Maya! If you want to really develope these proposed states then do not take it as vote bank and do not divide Uttar Pradesh. Develope education, industry by yourself and all other politicians with fair mind and open heart. Regards. Rajkumar Yadav.
The country will be better off with smaller states.It will allso reduce the amount of arm twisting for offices of profit by MP's from bigger states are able to manage without any contribution in growth of the nation.
What the hell has happened to these politicians?? Are they really the sons $ daughters of this soil??? i doubt!!! Just to add the vote bank for the Lok sabha elections they can even go to the extent of bifurcating India!!! Shame on them!
