Euphoria over PM's China visit
by Suresh Bhave on Feb 01, 2008 02:39 PM  Permalink

Far from warranting the euphoric reaction, the outcome of the visit hardly warrants a reaction. China wanting to have positive relationship in the area of nuclear energy is merely acknowledging that, with the waning of American antipathy to India's nuclear ambitions, China wants to have a slice of the lucrative Indian nuclear technology market. Whether anyone acknowledges India as a nuclear power or not, no one can deny that it is one. As for the UNSC seat, since the recent Balkan war, UNSC has become a rubber stamp of the USA. What constructive role did China, as a permannent member of UNSC, play in that conflict, could the Chinese aver the Iraq war and will they be able to avert Iran war if it is forced upon Iran? In fact, the dismaying fact is that the Chinese have never failed to subtly show their contempt for India. It was during the PM's visit that they thought it necessary to encroach into Indian border. It was a clear message 'don't think too much of all the friendly hisses of the dragon'. The Chinese have reiterated Mr. Andrew Symond's wisdom, there are no friendly relations on the test-match field.

They dont get carried away with small improvements as mush as the Indian media read english does or showcases. In a country where the majority of the media houses are indirectly controlled by the UPA when can you expect. China and Pak are two countries that have a unwarrented hatered for India for reasons of their own. But since China is now the manufactring capital of the world and the CPI &M baying for the Congres blood it pays to keep them in good humor.

The interventionist policies by the two erstwhile super powers' engagement in Asia made it a likely candidate for future power struggle. Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq bear testimony to this fact. No blame game, the power elites and corrupt ruling class often invited western powers to bring in catastrophic intervention. Post-colonial hangover is waning and asia is waking up from a deep slumber. The asian POWER TIGER is rising. Now how Asia will shape up to a good not great extent depends on 1. Comradeship between India and China, 2. US and its Asian Allies and 3. Resurgent Europe. Now the good new is that rapid-fire advancement of Science and technologies in the Western countries especially the G8 nations need huge market to accelerate their fast progess which ASIA is impregnated with. Also, due to societal turbulences Western nstion's demography needs immigration. additionally info revolution and globalization turned the world into a supercoiled global format. These epoch making mutational changes will definitively impact on global stratgic alliances. Sino-Indian relations can not go otherwise but to crystallize and synergise. It is good for a SANE AMERICA to respond positively towards this development because a peaceful Asia will empower US to invest ample resources towards discoveries and innovati
