Jyoti Basu reminded me of the actor Chobi Biswas in Ray's film Jalsaghar. Very aristrocratic but totally out of syc with time.
He is a good candidate for Bharat Ratna. Led WB for almost 25 years and ensured two things: 1)A jungle raj is established in WB 2)Chandan Basu, his son, prosper and amass tons of wealth

just like bjp established jungle raj in gujarat,rajastan and now in orrissa too.lol
If Jyoti Basu get Bharat Ratna because of Left pressure than immediately DMK will demad the same for Karunanidhi. In that case AIDMK will not remain 'shant'. All other parties will make similar hue and cry. And most interestingly, Mayawati herself will shout that she too want it before anybody else.

It is malicious campaign that the CPI(M) had asked for Bharat Ratna to be given to Jyoti Basu. There is no such proposal from the party. Just publish a news report to spread the rumour... And see the response from the participants of Discussion Board... They just throw mud... It is all due to a news report that has no basis... It is atrocious, Rediff group...
