Now tell me what the heck jyoti basu did 4 entire nation his only acheivment is only cofines to w.bengal .He rules bengal for 3 or 4 decades but for nation he contributed big 0 . now may be u can give him bengal ratna or something but bharat ratna noway !! His entire political carrer only spent to destbilise central government which is still going on even today itself !! so that's what u caled his national service !! Beside look at bengal which one off the least developed and poorest stste by any means !! God save the country from such a waste ! PLEASE FOR DOS SAKE DON'T DEGRADE THE HIGHEST CIVILIAN AWARD !!

Mr. LK Advani has done , probably unitentionaly, a greatest disservice to the unsullied name of Vajpayee and also our country. After the award has been given to Indira Gandhi and Rajiv, because they were associnated by forces of their creation, it is totally unthinkable that Vajpayee should be in the same select list.
People like Vajpayee and Jyoti Basu should decline this award clearly informing of their unsuitability of meeeting the creterion established by the congresmen.

He follows madams order very obediently, happy when madam pats her hand on his beard, crys when madam scold's and good thing about him is he looses sleep if a terrorist is questioned. He is the right candidate.

For making West Bengal one of the most backward states and conspiring with Chinese? Buddhadeb Bhattacharya is much better and has great vision. (Except for Nandigram which was bad planning and an extreme). There is no comparison b/w Vajapayee(slefless service) and Basu (selfish service)!
