A Dalit President could not save Dalits in our country. A Sardar could not save Sardars. A Muslim President could not save Muslims. A Modi will not save Hindus also. 5000 farmers suicided in Gujarat in his previous regime.
All those who blame Modi for the riots I have one question: Why is Sonia Gandhi and Communists not to blame when they pretty much incited violence by saying kar sevaks deserved it when the train was burnt? This is nothing but inciteful and most irresponsible. It takes little common sense to deduce how this will appear to the victims. Then she has the gaul to say "Modi is mechant of death" while asking for votes.

There is absolutely no excuse for the Gujarat massacre of innocent muslims. However, I do believe that, as chief minister,Modi had a responsibility for the safety and well-being of all his fellow citizen in Gujarat. He can be faulted for inefficiency in his response to contain the pogrrom. He should opently express his regrets on the horrible pogrom with all the sincerety. Were those innocent people who were burned and slaughtered responsible for what happened at the station? Man. I would have appriciated Modi had he punished those who burnt the train in Godhra.
But he involved in killing those hundreds of innocent people who were living a common life like we do. Then how come Modi can be called as Hero. He is a living devil man.

MODI was people's hero in 2002 and he just proved to be people's hero again in 2007.
You can call him devil or continue to hate him. That is your choice.
Get used to the idea that Modi is the future voice of India.
With all of the people who were standing in the way being cleared out after these elections, I really hope Modi can take time away from infrastructure and economic development and ramp up literacy, healthcare, fight female foeticide and not lose sight that these things are necessary to a all-around developed state.
If you are a Gujarati and if you got offended by my comparison, please ask yourself one question- Do you think what Modi did was right, when he stood by and gave free hand to the Hindu fanatics who wanted to seek revenge, by ensuring that the state administration and the apparatus abetted, aided and sometimes participated in the targeted killings of Gujarati people based on their identity?
If you think he was right, then yes, I do believe that you share some ideologies that coincide with fascists (that still does not qualify you as a Nazi). May be, its time you do some introspection, take some history lessons and try to reason what could go wrong in case your vote is hijacked by someone who has this capacity to push this sentiment too far.
If you think he was wrong, then please do spare me, I do not think you are part of this discussion.

When 59 Hindus were burnt alive in a train compartment in a predominantly muslim town, riots erupted through out Gujarat killing 254 Hindus & 790 muslims. This is not genocide. This is not pogrom. This is not holocaust This is not planned mass murder. This is simply riots and Modi's government controlled these riots as much as any other government could have under such circumstances.
A simple court verdict against King Rodney in Los Angeles triggered riots causing lots of death & destruction. No government is held accountable for this destruction.
In every riot, lots & lots of inhuman things happen because of angry masses and it takes time for the government to control these angry masses.
Can anyone imagine what would happen, if in USA or Europe, in a predominantly muslim area, 59 Christians are burnt alive? I think you all know the answer.... that is why such an incident will never happen in USA or Europe.
It is media (Sonia controlled) and political parties which want to eliminate Modi forever, have relentlessy projected him as a mass murderer, Hitler, etc, etc. Modi has not been convicted in any court for any crime and that is why he told MMS to arrest him if MMS has guts. Most people see the truth.

Riots in Gujrat was outcome of frustation of those - whose dear ones were burned alive by Godhra Muslims..
Modi has not burned any body alive...........
In Godhra Train burning 56 Hindu passenger were locked inside compartment and using petrol canes systematically burned alive by muslims.
Leader of that Muslim rioters was Congress Local Muslim Leader........who is facing trail of court.........
People like you with half knowledge are blaiming Modi and asking public views..........if u have guts ask Sonia and Manmohan .....why they are not hanging Afzal Guru......ehwy they are not allowing law to perform...........for creating vote muslim banks.........

India does not need SECULARISM, as presented to us by Congress.
India was always SECULAR, since several centuries, thanks to broad-mindedness of Hinduism, which sees the same God everywhere. Islam and Christianity could grow in India, only because of the greatness of Hindus.
The stupid vote bank style of SECULARISM, as presented by Congress and Communists, is not in the least required in India or anywhere else in this world.

Modi is on the rise in India. It is not a good sign. It bolsters and gives support to other elements that harbor similar thoughts(Nazism) in India. Hindutva forces already talk about emulating and replicating Gujarat in other states of India. People explain his win as a mandate of people. Thats a sorry state of affairs. What if a majority of Indians vote to kill all the minorities in one stroke, will we accept that mandate? Is law of the land and our constitution subservient to peoples mandate? We have a skewed and distorted view of what it means to be a democracy.
Indians have not learned to draw the line between what is acceptable and what is not. Here, in Gujarat, we have blurred those lines. We have legitimized crime that targets certain people based on their identity. The future is bleak. All this economic prosperity is not going to save us. Instead, this prosperity will only fuel such hatred to take it to the next level, where state participates in marginalizing, demonizing and then targeting of certain identities.
At last, Buddhadeb and Jyoti Basu said that socialism can not bring out prosperity and industrialization. Capitalism is necessary for the prosperity of all people.
It is good that the communists realized that communism is STUPID.

I m not Gujarati, I have never lived in Gujarat, I know nothing about the situations there. I am, however, a Hindu, a fact I was rather ashamed about when I heard what others from my religion were doing to others because they belonged to another religion.
And if Narendra Modi didnt just turn a blind eye towards these massacres, but in fact approved of them (something he has never denied, as far as I know), then yes, I for one would not want such a man as a chief minister of a state.
Maybe I m being overly idealistic in this. Maybe he has done a lot for the state of Gujarat, and there has been a lot of development there in recent years. I wouldnt know, and I admit that freely. But I would like to believe the life of a fellow human being holds some value in todays day and age. Which, sadly, doesnt seem to be the case.
The only problem with you and other like you is: you people are partial. You brand BJP as COMMUNAL, but if Congress does similar things, you call it SECULAR.
Let everyone be measured by the same yardstick.

Adolf Hitler came to power riding similar sympathies. When accused of bringing a government down, he honestly said, yes, and was even convicted. He did not lie. He did not falter (like what Modi did to Sohrabuddin). That brought him more public support. When Hitler spoke he did not hide his contempt for Jews, and neither did he hide his agenda on how he is going to take care of Jewish Problem. Still, the people of Germany who were surrounded by weak-hearted and corrupt leaders who would collude and make marriages of convenience just to be in power, voted this man to power because they thought he would at least tell them what he does and what he intends to do, honestly. While some observers of the early twentieth century spelt doom on the rise of Nazis in Germany, many other politicians (in Germany and outside), weak at heart, diffident, and completely involved in their petty politics underestimated the rise of Hitler (read, Congress and the Left). They thought he was a tiny figure who will be swept away very soon. That never happened. They kept giving into his demands. He fed on that support and mass hysteria and became a megalomaniac who plunged the whole world into its greatest war which ended up killing more than 50 million people in less than ten years.
