I dont think is a media spread story anymore. Ask any maharashtrian and he/she will nod their head in agreement. The sentiment in Maharashtra is very similar to the period before the AASU agitation in Assam. The cost benefit analysis of staying in the Union does not make sense if you become a minority in your own state, no matter what document says that including the constitution.

True crime knows no boundary, race, religion or ethnic barriers. However this still does not deny the basic problem that being of mass migration. Marathi speaking people have to make a decision. They have to decide to either accept being a minority in their own state or secede from the union. This is pretty much the choice that was left to the Assamese. Instead of bangladeshi's in assam, we have N. Indians in maharashtra. Similar choices will also have to be made by Karnataka soon and Andhra later.
Marathis are a failed lot (Money wise) ! Few months back Shiv Sena Pramukh told Marathis that they should follow a person based in Pune (some Bhonsale, who earned his money by crooked ways). So a crooked moneyed person is their role model ! Also now they seem to have realised that everybody except Marathis are making money, so recently they have started taking classes for Marathi Manoos to train them how to make money on Stock markets. I pity them !

Mumbai shines because of the hardwork of outsiders and the acute business sense of Gujaratis ( who also are outsiders if you stick to your definition) As far as culture is considered, before blaming biharis and UP public, remember that Sunil More who raped a teenage girl was a Marathi. Now, you guys have a habit of generalizing everything against North Indians. Why don't you apply it to your own people and declare that all Marathis are rapists? How cool and logical is that? As an Indian person I genuinely wish that entire India develops, and it really hurts me to see nearly 40% of India which is in the cow belt lacking in progress. North indians, or Bhaiyyas are intelligent people and hard working people but they have unfortunately not channelized their strength in making India great by developing their states. I genuinely hope they realize their potential. And listen no body hates Bhaiyyas, or any other community, let all the states of India be prosperous so that this strain on the infrastructure is not felt and also an uniformly developed India will create better opportunities, and prospects for all the Indians.
