media worse than the mob
by gac on Jan 04, 2008 07:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

At least the mob attacked those two women in inebriated condition for a few moments, this incident could have gone out of their minds after some months after they reached US, as some bad experience back in India.

But the Indian media which always acts as guardian of moral conscience are really greedier to earn more money at the cost of the trauma undergone by these women by posting those awful pictures and having a debate like this online, they made this event not to get out of their minds and which will haunt them forever.

I really wanted to know if the same incident happened to one of the employees or close relatives of the news bureau will they come up with the same type of obscene photo as proof on online and on-air.

Im not defending the mob activity but the same time, media dosn%u2019t have the right to take a ride on dignity of women in sheer greed to make more money.

You pleae don't worry about the trauma that those girls undergo who freaking out at odd times in city during a new year eve fully knowing that drunkards lurch on streets must have the common sense of staying inside hotel till morning in order to avoid such incident.

If that language and bum pinching pics are published you lose all the respect that you have for these big guys and gals!

SURREAL SLEAZE!
by Kabeer on Jan 04, 2008 06:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Times Of India publishes in the garb of news reporting the pictures taken of the victims when their skirts were lifted by miscreants!

It is not responsible news reporting but a surreal sleaze to increase its sales.

Cynical Media Barons like Puneet Jains!

In the garb of reporting all News channels are repeatedly showing the pics where the miscreants laid their hands etc!

Disgraceful reporting!

What all the media reported is a matter of fact and not any manipulation or false report. Your subconcious mind is just trying to deny the fact due to an innate jealousy of not being one among the lusty mob and having your hand laid on those girls... Do an introspection with a peaceful mind

Dear Shiga....,
Your surname depicts your mindset!

TOI can still repor the news in a written article without publishing those pics!

They are actually, increasing the trauma of those victims by publishing their pics when they were vulnerable.

TV channels can still repor the news without showing those pics again and again!

No hype is made about them....

if they had their way... they would even publish the unedited n uncensored pics.. n articles...
the treatment of the case was certainly not correct by the media..
it was more reporting with undercurrents of sleaze..

ORGANISE STREET COMMITTES! police chief has a point!
by Kabeer on Jan 04, 2008 06:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Mumbai Police has a valid point!
If all the citizens of Mumbai comeout into the open streets in the middle of the night, which police in the world can afford to keep a check at every bunch of 10 people?

Best way to check this new year menace is organising local street committees to keep a check in their areas!

They do this on Ganesh utsavs etc.

It is a kind of self governance!

IN THE FIRST PLACE TIMES OF INDIA IS MAKING LOT OF MONEY ON PUBLISHING THE PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN WHEN THE VICTIMS SKIRTS WERE LIFTED BY MISCREANTS!

IT WAS NOT JUST NEWS REPORTING!
IT IS SURREAL SLEAZE ENCASED IN FORM OR REPORTING!

CYNICAL MEDIA BARONS LIKE PUNEET JAINS!

If Police commissiner talks defensive, like a coward, it sends wrong signal to the criminals. RR patil is right and the citizens would be happy to have him as their Home Minister. Shivraj Patil can take few lessons from him, the failed Home Minister of Govt. of India.

Yes I agree, what he said was not responsible.
However, you should not miss the point.
How on earth the limited police force can check every group of 10s on the streets if the entire city comes onto streets in the middle of night?

No police force is geared up in any city in the world.

YOu dont come across these incidents in the west because they are not sexually starved like many oriental nationalities. Other oriental nationalities do not ape this western culture on the new year day eve. That is why you dont hear in asian or western countries. You hear them only in India as India is half western and half Oriental by temperament.

Molestation case in Mumbai
by Dr Kaushala Prasad Mishra on Jan 04, 2008 06:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The incidence is shameful and shocking. This is a blot on the culture of discipline in Mumbai due to largely assured law and order. Mr Patil, the Home Minister, is to be congratulated for a prompt response of a bold step of setting up a fast track court for trial. Let offenders be punished within a few weeks to set an example.

JOKER PATIL!
by Kabeer on Jan 04, 2008 06:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Good that Dy CM Patil is worried about Mumbai citizens!

He drove entire Mumbai Police to run around the victims and beg them to file a complaint.

He did a similar thing by putting every cop after a dance bar relentlessly!

Entire Mumbai police was after silly dance bars and let real crime was given a free hand. No body to do intelligence job and check terrorist activities.

July 2006 Bomb blasts in the suburban trains is the result of this silly stupid Dy. CM Patils policies!

He hasn't learned his lessons yet!

Whether it is a terrorist or a molester, both should be tracked down, caught and punished. But terrorists simply cannot be apprehended in India or in Mumbai simply because they have supports in these molesters. At least there are some law and order in Mumbai as compared to other places in North India

I dont miss any Chamiyas dear Lobo!

I watch them at Taj and Oberoi every weekend!
They are not prohibited there-not even belly dances!

Mumbai women are first worried about their lives extinguished in a train bomb blast!

Let the Police contain crime and terrorism first!

The best way to stop this new year crime is Organising street committees who act as watch dogs and do the policing!

You cant put the entire police on to check which street Romeo called a passerby a name!

There are methods to handle this nuisance, but certainly this is not the one!

Let Police do the intelligence gathering work and prevent bomb blasts!

It happened in the past as Patil put the entire force on bargirls!

I was born and brought up in delhi but now I live in Mumbai.......I can vouch for this even though this incident happened Mumbai is still far far safer than Delhi for ladies.....The kinda of reactions this is generating in Mumbai shows how serious ppl r to eradicate this menace...but in delhi this is a regular affair.....ladies r molested everyday in DTC buses out side colleges by even cops......Fast track court is a very good idea to bring justice but there should also be stringent term also.....Delhi should learn frm Mumbai
