Sinhalese are against Rajapaksa & Bro along with Aboriginal Tamils:
I am Sinhala myself, badly suffered from the regime of current and past rulers. Let me tell the Indians the genuine condition of the Island.
We sinhala poors are hard hit by rising cost of living, mostly feed only twice per day. If Rahapaksa regime continues this 2008 sure Lanka is going to be one another Ethiopia, says known Economists of the Island.
The few rich around socalled urban centers of coloumbo and galle not make facutal lanka. The lower middle and poor sinhalas whom are struggling hard for food and shelter in war ragged region account most of the population. When rajapakasa brothers move around in imported car, this poor sinhalas kill themselves fighting an unwanted war.
But Rajapaksa & brothers believe and want the world to believe that they are ok and are in front line. It simply reminds a mini-soviet. Time will tell us all when the 'crack' will start happening.
I am a tamilian and my opinion is that the LTTE should shun violence and come to talks.. Let us see the larger picture. The LTTE is an anti muslim ethnic organization which demands a seperate tamil nation. The LTTE never existed till the 1980s . During the last 2000 years the buddhists and tamils(and other hindus) were living peacefully. . During the 1980s the buddhists clergy became strong enough that they demanded a seperate law for the Sinhalas. . The problem of marginalising the tamils resulted in the formation of LTTE. With due course of time people like Karuna, vaiko etc who are not even known to SL tamils gave support for thier politican reasons. LTTE lost its vision and started killing tamils who opposed terrorism. Prabakarans wife and children live a luxurious life in UK, but according to them tamils should fight. They started kidnapping children and were known for drug trade in south asia. Injustice has been done to tamils(hindus) there. . Like Ind Gan created Khalistan, the LTTE too was the congress's creation. Rajiv got the same treatment which he gave to sikhs, tamils.
Let good sense prevail and let both LTTE and SL govt whi have committed blunders get to a settlement soon, Else the commies, Pakis and other cheats will destroy both buddists and tamils.

The problem of marginalising Tamils and grabbing thoer lands started from indepnedence. To the Sinhalas the British handing the Tamils over to them on a platter without adequate protection was like willing a lottery. They had eyed these ancient Tamil lands in the North East and the North West Puttalam and Chilaw. They were unable to do anything about these for the past 2500 years. due to the Tamil king of Jaffna The Tamil Chieftans and the Cholas and the Pandyans. They may have conquered these for a small period of time but they always reverted back to the Tamils. Immediatley after independence they used their majority power to immediately Sinhalise the Tamil population in Chilaw and Puttalam . The Sinhala Catholic chruch of the south also played a very crucial hand in this. That is why even now their is deep division amongst the Tamil Catholic churches and the Sinhala Catholic Churches. They are now on th everge of taking over the Tamil East thanks largely to the USa Karuna the west and India. Pakistan and Israel. If th eLTTE looses the Vanni only Godcan save the Eelam Tamils. The west especially the USA has played a very hypocritical and dirty game for its own selfish interest. They had helped the genocide and ethnic cleansing of an ancient people for their own strategiv interestes. BUt then the USa was formed on teh Genocide of the American Indians and the Slavery of the Negro Population

Prabharan is a Hindu. Ltte is not supported by any church but by the native SriLankan Tamils both Hindu and and Christian and it reflects the religious make up of the Ethnic Eelam Tamils 80% Hindus and 20% Christians.
