Fatima Bhutto is absolutely right!Dynasty politics is dangerous for any country. We have too much of it in India. The nehru family showed the way, and it is having a deleterious effect on the psyche of the nation. Self-seeking politicians like Karunanidhi have found it a convenient tool to keep his dynasty in power for generations together, a la Nehru family.

She is intelligent, and sexy.. Why Indian citizenship? lets just make her Indian... She is a sindhi, and could be better than the vadeshi bahu we currently have... I am willing to go saat phere with her...
Fatima should realise that democracy is spelt differently by Islamists as 'democrazy'. No Islamic country in the history of the world had undeterred democracy for a decade, so how can she even think of democracy in Pakistan as long it remains a Islamic country? Democracy involves empowering the people, and as all people may not like fanatic Islamists, they would be seen as an inconvenience, and soon democracy would be in the doldrums in Pakistan.

even though it seems that islam and democracy are incompatible, countries like malaysia, turkey and indonesia(largest muslim country in the world) have maintained democratic regimes for a long time, much longer than a decade in any case.

The day Malaysia became 51% muslim, it became an Islamic state and Hindu temples started being demolished. Hindus beware! The same game is being planned by anti-Hindu elements in India, by the 'minority welfare' allocation of 1000crores, by a 'secular' Govt! The Govt ofcourse is interested only in getting the votes and notes of rich muslims and christians!

Do you consider life in Indonesia under Suharto, or in Malaysia under Mahathir Mohammed as living in a democracy? And Turkry is not exactly an Islamic state. Blessed with an enlightened founding father in the form of Kemal ata Turk, it has a healthy Christian community, and strives to be a member of EU. In fact head scarves for women were banned in Turkey till late.

Why? when we call 5 years under communalists like Vajpayee and Advani as democracy, why not call other elected governments as democratic?
Definition of Democracy is not determined by your convenience based on hatred or liking for a religion. Malaysia is far too modernised for India. For your info, Turkey was modernized by an Islamic dictator. These are examples of progressive Islamic countries. So, its better to change our perception that all Islamic countries are unruly and chaotic.

Gentemen, When you say Islamic country there is no democracy. In Malaysia and Indonesia it is not democracy, it is guided democracy as they call it.Vajpaye and Advani etc. may be communal, but their party got defeated by the majority Hindu electorate.Congress catches votes by appeasing Muslims and BJP by Hindu card. But in India Hindu democracy does not exist, it is not religion based. It may be mobocracy of Lalu/ Mayawati/Shiv Sena /MNS types, but people decide what they want. The decision may not be correct. But that is democracy. Turky became a secular democracy instead of falling prey to Islamic fundamentalism.Hence democracy survives there.Similarly if UK adopts Protestant Christian Democracy it will be its death. Pakistan should merge with its original country alongwith Bangladesh to make itself a strong nation as Unified INDIA.If West and East Germanies can forget their past and become one why not India, Pakistan and Bangladesh ? Will the western divisive forces agree ? They like these countries continue to fight and perish. Be rational and realistic and do not try to impose views like this. Long live Indian democracy.
