Most of them dont even know where is Australia, or a Sardarji is not an Osama followers. For them America is Universe. So dont tell us what they think of us- and why are you frightened for?
If you have chosen to stay there so you have chosen your life-why complain? What have you done for India ? Then with what face you expect anything from us?
By the way second generation Indians often have problems like you about India and Indians.
Actually in England a brown Brit is much hopeless in behaviour than white Brits.

Mr Khan, I don't think you read entire article. The last line clearly says he is just 15 (in age). He wrote a beautiful article and shows his maturity level which I envy. Even after living in America for 5 years, which thus far ahead of India in terms of infrastructure and so on, still kept his mother country dear to heart and proud of his background and confident in what we Indian can achieve. I find a leader in him. Hope he will be back and inspire our young children to be optimistic and hard working.
Thus far my observation is India is about 90 percent pessimistic, 9 percent arrogant, and 1 percent optimistic who is on the ground and have better expectation of India. We need to convert those 90 pessimistic people to the optimistic people.
Good job Dhruv. Keep it up. Hope to see you in India one day.

Dear Khan, shame that you have neither understood the tone nor the mood of the writer.There is absolutely nop complaint. And there is no scope of any expectations or the authors chosen way of life.The message is nothing more than conveying that India is no more what it was before.India has changed and so must the perceptions of the world.Not sure of your grievence with the NRI's or anyone studying outside.Sure this exposure does help in conjuring a conciousness about the wrongs in our country be it the police force,be it the roads, be it the attitude of the lawmakers be it the democratic principles and respect for life that are perdominant outside.remember without the exposure to libneralisation, India had come to a despicable situation of being sold to outsiders. Recently, one of my friend sho works for WHO went to afganistan and he says clearly that kabul's roads are better than bangalore by all means. Its drainge system, better than any other ndian cities and it is a clean city than bangalore
For your age i don't know whether u are indian born or second generation indian, but it is nice article probably u can show them some of bollywood which shows what india is like. Probably of the most interesting developing country India is unique in the sense that U can get whatever u want from any part of the world at ur door step
first thing india is among the fastest deeveloping nation, india got independent nearly 60 yrs back and other nations like american have been independent more then 150 yrs back. still we are not lagging behind in any sectors, if we were independent much earlier thing would have been different and india would have been the leader of all the countries just wait and watch my dear friends and see the development in india

What's the size and population of Malaysia,Singapore and India ? Singapore is equivalent to one big city in India and Malaysia half that of a state. Dont make these stupid comparisons.
Why blaim them? Even we think Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar or even Srilanka are countries filled with poverty. This is because our perception is based on what Media shows on TV.

Take an example of national capital Delhi for time...
In east Delhi poor population is still living over open sewer lines... they use to build 3 stories in 12 feet height... no power and full of mosquitoes...
there is sever water shortage in entire Delhi... if you get a chance just visit okhla in the morning ... you can see a long line of poor ppl behind DJB tankers ... you can also see their quarrel and fight for water... while in richer region (CR Park, Ashram), ppl are buying drinking water to take bath...
As far as power cuts are concern east Delhi is worst... from April to August you will experience 4-5 hr of power cut due to transformer failure... (I remember due to this problem some of the resident danced in front of CM resident in underwear)... there is no fogging also...
Further there is no control over increasing vehicles and traffic situation going worst day by day... you will rarely find any car with a dent... frustration among Delhi ppl is rising day by day due to increased population, pollution, corruption, crime and competition...
If this is the situation of national capital of our grate India you can expect what is going on in other small cities of country...
Just for your information there is regular power cut of 4-5 hrs in UP since last 5-6 years during mid day...
Please visit UP in summer to enjoy the situation...

Who is right. I am totally confused. the discussion on board is that what the outsiders thought our country not on the problems in the india, we probably should have a seperate discussion for it. Problems lying in every country but we have some good things in us too which the others should know and if not we have to tell them. The same the told well. Its not requiired you everytime blame the negativity in india we should also see our positvie side also.
