Of Course he will dump Shariff: Do not forget, he is the husband of a person who struck a deal with Musharraf and was willing to share power with the dictator. The politicians of the Sub-Continent will do anything for po--Look at India too.

Sounds like the Shahrukh Khan Starrer 'Badshah' and its sequel only without a Sahrukh Khan. (Benazir got killed and husband benefited.)

You mustn't say anything against Muslims, we comrades object. Musharraf and company are good people because our Chinese handlers say so.

Military rule
by Rohini Shivanna on Feb 29, 2008 01:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The jokers who won the elections will fight amongst themselves very soon, and again there will be a military president. Haven't we been seeing the drama again and again in that country? Only, this time it will be much easier. the military would not have to find spooky reasons.

Democracy in Pakistan

Its not just Zardari, if Sharif gets a chance he will dump Zardari or vice - versa. They both are opportunists and politicians. They will explore every possibility and would leave no stone unturned to be on top of the power.

the one that got 50.01 percent vote and or the seats in an election is the king until the next election or the no confidence montion in the legislature. that is the rule of the game. the combination that PPP can raise if it excludes nawaz shaareef, it can dump him.

people do not matter
by Doc Kuchbhi on Feb 29, 2008 05:15 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its true that Pakistan has no democracy and that the current "democracy" is externally imposed by the Americans.
Unfortunately, Pakistan will not break up because Balochis and Sindhis have been brainwashed into thinking that if they do, then India will gobble them up. There is NO ELECTION in Gilgit and so called "Azad" Kashmir (so much for the self-determination argument). The total thing is an eyewash and the Pakistanis get screwed in the bargain.

Pakistanis have carried with them the legacy of the Mughal Empire
by Vishnu Sharma on Feb 28, 2008 11:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With its contempt for popular mandate, secularism, and excesses of those in power.
Democracy is always a casualty in Pakistan.
Bloodshed is the easiest route taken.

And there are always Byzantine intrigues and plots being hatched in the background.

Periodically the rulers have to resort to excessive bloodshed to terrorize its citizens to be law abiding.

In the end I hope the country breaks up once more and becomes another Iraq with Pakistani factions murdering each other in the thousands on a daily basis.

Typically the end of Islam would be like that, as it is one of a kind which destroys itself. Islam survived because of Oil, otherwise it would have disappeared long time ago. It is based on Hatred and Violence, so it has to end one way or the other. And Islamist think this is the Best Religion because Mo is the Last Prophet. O boy, they are really the Worst.

Islam will only "end" in your dreams...you know what history repeats itself...they ruled over the world in the past and thats gonna happen again too...i am not really proud to say this being a christian but i strongly believe in "what goes around comes around as well"..this is how the law of nature works...just be patient and see for yourslf...the more ppl are spreading propoganda against islam...the more people will be inclined to know what ISLAM really is..and its not for sure what indians ddescribe it to be...!!! i do hope you see the rise of islam in your lifetime ...if not atleast your children or great grand children should see the downfall of all the powers which have been injust with the muslims.
