What about those millions of moderate Muslims who are reconsidering their faith after the heinous task of Sep 11 perpetrated by some devout and true Muslims? Many moderate Muslim-origin Americans even feel tremendously ashamed and embarrassed to identify themselves as Muslims. Many moderate or not so strong believers of Muslim descent are trying to hide their identity in the west, or many even declared that they are no longer Muslims. Many youngsters at their early twenties from Muslim background are actively changing their names. The other day in a social gathering, some young men of Muslim origin were declaring very vocally that, they are going to remove some portion of their names. That is they will get rid of "Muhammad, Ahmed, Rahman, Islam, etc." from their names. I read some news in some Bengali weekly papers in which some adult Muslims declared that they have removed the prefix: Muhammad, Ahmed or Islam from their names. Most of all, what benefit do we achieve by getting some erratic human beings (some young whites, or some black prisoners) converted to Islam? Who counts those Muslims, who either convert themselves to Christianity or just give up their faith in Islam silently? Do we still have something left to be proud about Islam? Does the number of supporters really matter? A few century ago the entire world believed the Earth to be flat and Sun rotates East to West to give light to the earth. Only one or two human being did not believe the earth to be flat. Who were right eventually, those billions of ignorant peoples or those one or two scientists? The mouth full claim of billion Muslims does not make much sense to me. How many of these billion people have the knowledge of Koran and Hadiths?

I don't who posted the original message but he is really an uncivilized person. Debate with a person in a decent manner. Don't abuse him or drag mothers and sisters into dicussion. This is a humble request to all those who are posting messages (irrespective of religion).
First of all there is no need to be proud of the legacy of muslim rulers. They were just like the politicins of our time. Once having established, they were interested in amassing wealth, filling up their harems with beautiful women, building monuments, etc.
Had they cared for the muslims, there was no need for Sachar Commission and things like that. All Indians were not cowards to to be converted at the point of sword. As always, only the poorest of the poor and indenfensible get affected. Most of those who were converted to Islam were the poor and as such the conditin of muslims are also not different from that of the Dalits and lower castes from other religions.

Islam if spread with sword would have decayed over the years not being a vibrant and flourishing religion...the fastest growing religion in US is Islam are they being converted then??? The US is very much concerned but unable to do anything??? Islam is a global phenomenon...which Any forceful convert would never be able to implement in his life leave alone teach his progeny...

Dhobi ka kutha na ghar ka na ghat ka! The Indian and Pakistani muslims are not considered as their equal by the Arabs. The toothless Arabs can marry young girls from Hyderabad or Calicut but no Indian or Pakistani muslim can marry an Arab girl!!!!!!!!!Still you are proud of the Arab culture!
Btw it was your ancestors who suffered at the hands of the invaders. We have no problem if you want to treat that an honour to them!!!!!

The general policy of most of the rulers during the 700 years of Muslim occupation of India was to systematically replace the fabric of Hindu society and culture with a Muslim culture. The Rajputs, Jats, Marathas and Sikhs led this struggle in North India. In the South this struggle was embodied in the Vijayanagar Empire. This struggle culminated when the Marathas ended the Muslim domination of India.

If you think Muslims were forcefully converted then imagine 900 yrs of muslim rule whole of india would have been converted you all 80% hindus are the proof that the muslim rulers never forced for conversion...Think about south india my brothers TIPU NIZAMS etc if they have forced i dont think hinduism or any other religion would have ever flourished...what about sikhs they were too small a community...Buddhis-they wouldl never pose any challenge cos of non-voilence they follow...the 80% hindus are glaring eveidence that muslim rulers never objected to they being hindus...

do you think it would be feasible to convert such a huge population? ANy ruler's army would have been predominantly Hindu. Wouldnt there have been an army revolt? It wouold be suicide if any ruler took it up. It was only the invaders who converted people of INdia

My brother invaders stayed for few months in india and left after that people would have reverted on the other hand 900 yrs would mean atleast 11 generations... the oppurtunity to convert would be even higher...Also rememeber each king as individual was different AKBAR was secular in approach unlike aurangzeb...so broden your thinking man...

He was waiting for Cabinate to foreard the proposal, Afzals Clemency petition was with union Cabinate and UPA government never forwarded it to president. This was the method adopted by UPA to keep Afzal alive. President can accept or reject if and only if Government forwards it to him. UPA and Left were eagerly waiting for Kalam to be out as he was instrumental in Keeping Sonia out of PMs office. Sonia's 'Tyag' came out only after meeting with Kalam
