Hillary seeks new policy towards Pakistan
by Fazal Curmally on Feb 27, 2008 02:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pakistan does not exist for Hillary Clinton's or the America's convenience and they better believe it. Pakistan has no war with Afghanistan and you'd better believe that too.

DAWN NEWSPAPER : HINDUS IN PAKISTAN
by Lotan Potan on Feb 26, 2008 03:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Members of the audience asked many questions but most disturbing and heart rending was asked by an old Sindhi Hindu lawyer.

He said that that underage Hindu girls, as young as 12, were being kidnapped, forced to marry and convert to Islam. Parents%u2019 attempt to file an FIR against the culprits is not registered by the police, they take no action against the criminal, the girl is never recovered, the parents suffer life-long pain, and NGOs take no action while the media ignores it. The complaint was confirmed by the fact that the news report in the following day%u2019s newspapers on the seminar did not even mention this point.

He wanted to know why was it so? Is not kidnapping, irrespective of the faith and ethnic background of the victim, a crime under the laws of Pakistan? Are such heinous acts not un-Islamic, and immoral? Why does the state behave like a helpless bystander and why do human right organizations in Pakistan maintain a deafening silence? Do they not know what pain and humiliation it causes to the parents, particularly to the mother whose little girl is taken away forcefully and never allowed to meet her again?

It happens in India too. Press usually avoids stories when aggressor is a Muslim. It becomes a newitem when Hindus retaliate.

That's the reason Babu Bajrangis are rising.

When a Hindu boy marries a Muslim girl, subsequent violence is conveniently wrapped by media.

Bush is an Acting President
by Ashok Kumar V.K. on Feb 26, 2008 01:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Junior Bush is an acting president of USA, so Ms Clinton should not criticise the actions of President while in office. President has right to do whatever he thinks good for the world order. So Ms.Clinton should restrain from commenting anything that is not suitable to her dignity.

You are wrong. The US President has a right to do what is good for US. Nobody has given him (nor can they give him) the right to do "whatever he thinks good for WORLD ORDER". Bush is the President of the US and not of the WORLD.

at that time what was the alternative action ?
by Ashok Gupta on Feb 26, 2008 01:58 PM  Permalink

At that time was there an alternative action which the US could have taken ? The people between the Pakistan and Afganistan border are poor so where are the weapons coming from ? How can they buy them ? Who is funding them ? It is now all right for Politicians to say that the USA was wrong why did they not suggest an alternate plan to contain the terrorists ? Had Bushs plan succeeded then he would have been a hero. The only thing that has happened is that because it was the USA the world is forced to take notice and willingly or reluctantly join forces, before 9/11 no one cared of these strikes.

American presidential elections or American idol contest
by prasanna kumar on Feb 26, 2008 01:50 PM  Permalink

The way the american people are voting seems more like American Idol contest than American Presenditial election. Not one obama supporter can tell why they have voted for him. The best they had got till now is that he opposed Iraq war which no one knows because he was not in Senate then.
