Congratulations all the people who did hardwork to echiev this successful test fire. Now soon we can distroy our enemies beyond the boarders if they attack us. What about the enemies within us distroying the unity and communal harmony and killing enocent people in the name of Jihad or any other madness. Recently arrested SIMI Jihadies from B'lore disclosed they had plans to attack Nuke powerstations temples and all they spreaded their wings all over india and planing communal riots. Nexalites are day by day gaining strength present soft govet at center actually helping for all of this activities. Budget is providing more loan fecilities for Muslims: actually this will help more jihadis take loans and make bombs and kill as many as they can. and they will bomb the same bank too. Nexalites gaining more power due to CPM and CPI blocking center to take any strong actions against their premature form.

vargies, Very well said. All facts. External enemies are Jihadis and radical Islamist, they are draining India's economy. Internal enemies are Left wing parties like CPI,CPI(M)&RSP. They are aiding Naxalites indirectly. They are all same color RED. And both worship same foreign born leaders. IT IS TRUE CENTER IS NOT DOING ITS JOB WHEN COMES TO NAXELS AND JIHADIS. PEOPLE OF KERALA AND W BENGAL HAVE THE POWER TO ELIMINATE THESE COMMIES. THEY SHOULD USE THAT POWER IN POLLING BOOTH.
Firstly.. I must say this is a really good piece of work by DRDO and very well done!
I think we need to refocus DRDO efforts on:
Tactical systems for Jawans : 1)Advanced body armour 2)Better & light weight communications 3)Better and more mobile medical systems 4)long lasting self heating food packets 5)Better border intrustion detection systems 6)Light weight boots & equipment and NBC clothing.
Let us rethink whether we need to build some of strategic systems from the ground up all by ourselves. Dont get me wrong, I am saying there are a few systems that we must develop ourselves (NBC weapons, nuclear submarine etc). But we really need to think whether we can buy somethings from outside and then build on them. Otherwise we can look for joint development with other nations. Eg:
1)May be the LCA could have been developed in 10 yrs if we had a JV with Isreal or other friendly nations. Both Isreal and India have good expereince in aircraft modification and enhancement. 2)Isreal already has a very advanced tank called the Markava (google it you want). Could we partner with them to produce the next version of the Markava MBT instead of the Arjun? 2) Hyundai industries can make Naval ship hulls for us - and we do the internal systems. Hyundai makes full super container ships in 10 months flat - surely they can make ship hulls for our aircraft carrier and frigates.

Proud Indian , Good one. Names your mensioned are US allies. That tells you India must join hands with Isreal, south Korea, Japan and Australia. Enough of pleasing Russia(old soviet) Rightnow they are bulling us about the aircraft carrier. And no question make Isreal as our partner.

A person with great inferiorities talk like this. Why do we need anyone's help. They need our help, because their economies of hatred are a failure. Russia needs us, America needs us. We have too many engineers and scientist that are of need of good employment.We have too much population wish even without high tech makes us a Super Power.
It the same rediff that reported years ago of the success of prithvi, arjun tank and agni missile- later same people reported DRDO were and failure of prithvi, arjun tank and agni missile. So guys my advise is just wait for a while before you celebrate.
Now some people are talk about starting a war with china. are you kidding? 95% defense equipments are imported and we still import. fighter plane su-30mki is developed with russian licence. that means licence is still under russian control. For any country to conduct war successful they should have a good manufacturing division that can keep up with demand in war filed. We saw durinf kargil war when we ran out bofors shell we had to make an emergency import. What makes china different from india at time of war is china got a good manufacturing division

Star of David.You are full of nonsence, I feel for the Jews who were forcible converted to Judaism by Moses. It is like America hitting a orbiting satelite, how many time they dock with space station the shuttle? So what is the hype of anti-satilite system after all it is orbiting. Putting things in orbit higher tech. Launch of underwater missile means our nuclear submarines is on schedule with this test.

not war but we should think about getting back our land which was snatched by some of our neighbors...May be once we're powerful enough then our time also will come when we can negotiate on international level... Once we become permanent member of UN and security council Once we've intercontinental ballistic missile Once we've anti satellite missile... Once we've powerful infrastructure then who know they may bend to their knee...
Sagrika is the true name. And its 700 Km range is less. This missile is developed to give India a second strike capablity, and with the present range in order to strike China (Beijing) the submarine carrying this missile has to go too close to China, and that is dangerous, but this range is OK for Pakistan. But our big enemy is China and for that DRDO shall increase the range of this missile by another 1000 Km atleast.

Better border intrustion systems is another.

Lastly, I cannot belive that DRDO conroller said that it would need just one test to ratify the missile! surely rediff has got it wrong. It takes 100's of test flights to make a missile operations. Somethings wrong!
