...Science today wouldn't be as advanced without so many discoveries from the Muslim world. It's time to reach across today's hurtful barriers...

I would appreciate if you write on science history publishable on a magazine like The Business Week. I am not averse to any knowledge, by the way I am mathematician too and make a living out of Quaternions and vector analysis.

Balarod good insights from you.Nice to hear but certain people will never change as they have made it a habit of blaming Islam everytime. This is mere hatered on their part. They see only one perspective of events and never see the root cause. They have no answers if you ask them as to why are the regions belonging to muslims occupied.Naturally there are going to be problems.Who doesnt want to live in peace but will some materialsitic people let the peace previal in turn they want to argue by blaming Islam. They dont see themselves what they are doing.
>>>>>balaord, have you heard of Kautilya's Artha Shastra, Bhaskaracharya, Aryabhatta, Shushrutu (who conducted complicated surgeries about 4000 years back), The Ayurvedic system Ashtanga hridayam, etc? >>>>
I know surgeries were done in India 4000 years back, but the modern surgical procedures are directly influenced by Muslim surgeorn Albucasis. As usual many here simply bluff without ever bothering to give proof
Professor Ralph Herman Major the first Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine University of Kansas (One of first doctors to use insulin to treat diabetics)
says this
%u2026 Albucasis%u2019 On Surgery was the first work specifically about surgery and illustrated more than 200 surgical instruments. Albucasis, born in 963, was the greatest surgeon in Islam%u2026
In this work author Ibn al Nafis, an Arabian physician of the 13th century, pointed out that the interventricular septum of the heart had no pores and gave the first clear statement of the pulmonary or lesser circulation

am talking about How civilization which had Islam as its life line made profound impact and contribution to Modernity. You may detest the facts, but no matter how bitter it is -History stands testimony to the truth I am here trying to do my bit to shatter the sterotyping of Muslims by ignoramauses
that is why you people are getting less and less in the field of science and technology. and your number is increasing more and more in the field of suicide bombing, kidnapping, shia-sunni killing, raping by father-in-law etc high-value scientific works.

Amar Desai :Brainless, Sun never rotates, Sun is a star, stars never rotates or revolve though some changes their position but not Sun. Sun is stationary and no body has made claims of it being revolving or rotating. u r the first one ot see this deram.
Great Mr. Amar Desai... you are really genius, i was expecting this from people like you...
Now let us analyse this... Sun does rotate. We can observed this by observing sunspots. All sunspots move across the face of the Sun. This motion is part of the general rotation of the Sun on its axis. Observations also indicate that the Sun does not rotate as a solid body, but it spins differentially. That means that it rotates faster at the equator of the Sun and slower at its poles. (The gas giants Jupiter and Saturn also have differential rotation.) The movements of the sunspots indicate that the Sun rotates once every 27 days at the equator, but only once in 31 days at the poles.
Reference : From Nasa website...
Sun's Revolution:- The Sun does revolve around the Milky Way on an almost circular orbit with a speed of about 220km/s. The Sun completes one revolution in about 230 million years. The Milky Way also moves - we are moving towards or nearest neighbour the Andromeda galaxy and both the Milky Way and Andromeda (which make up most of what we call the 'Local Group of galaxies') are moving towards the Virgo Cluster which is our nearest cluster of galaxies. Nothing seems to stand still at all.

It was only quran which says that sun revolves and rotates..

Guys,
Forget who achieved what in history. Think about what you've done so far. In addition to wasting time bashing up on these boards, have you really done anything so far which makes your country (atleast family) proud?
I think all those who repeatedly post abusive messages must be BIGGEST losers LOL

Number system is not an exclusive discovery or invention.Though Indian number system has inherent strengths over Roman,Mayan and Assiriyain system, you should also credit Muslims for standarding it the world over. As a Indian and Muslim I am doubly proud of it..
