I agree well said. The poor people there live subhuman lives.
The government's commitment, both at the national and state level should be that every village will be assured at least clean water, a road to the regional market, reliable power, and minimal telephone service; but that every village will be responsible for covering the commercial costs of those services on a normal user-fee basis.
In particular, Bihar, UP, Orissa and Rajasthan are in dire need of reform. Bihar is the most underdeveloped state of India, perhaps, followed by Uttar Pradesh.

The rest of india should unite and do something about this. I am afraid these northies will be massacred sooner or later. Some hitler will emerge from rest of the india who will end these northies story. It's sad.
Raj has earned the curse of the poor migrant workers. The agony that they have had to go through is irreparable. He cannot target the powerful IT or Railways or other govt. departments where lots of North Indians work but instead his party workers are targetting the poor labourers who have no state which they can call their own. He has achieved the publicity what he was looking for but also he has achieved the curse of the poor migrant workers who have had to run away from his goonda's. Shame on you Raj MNS and Shame on you Shiv Sena. May God have mercy on them for what they have done.

My Dear friend... It seems you are the voice for the UP's.... You see Mumbai has got Gujaratis,South Indians,Bengali,Orrisa,Bihari's and many other castes and religion... But see the way they have developed.... They contribute to the society in one way or other.... These so called UP people you are saying, they come here and do not contribute anything..... In fact the Tax payers money pays for their expenses, which is already getting tighter and tighters because of pliical stints... Also mind that i am not supporting Raj but i also agree with certain of his views.... I also like to highligh that most of these so called poor UP migrants are Anti-social elements... I do not have to tell you about the UP state.. It is there everyday in the news... Rest said i stand correct in my eyes and you in yours...

I'm not talking only about mumbai i'm talking about whole of Maharashtra where poor people are being made to run away just because they are from UP and Bihar. We are living in India not in Maharashtra. I'm not a voice for Up's i'm a voice for India and you seem to have joined Raj's bandwagon. There will always be antisocial's and criminals. Most if not all of the terrorists in mumbai are muslims why doesn't Raj tell them to go to pakistan. its a matter of shame that you ppl take his side. Well Preeti for you i should say that you should see for yourself the terror these people are facing then you will understand. The marathi poor people are not being terrorised to run away from their homes. You need to blame the contractors who are bringing these people and making them work on low wages and longer hours which the poor marathi will not. I'm born n bred in mumbai and my forefathers are also from mumbai but its a shame that these poor people are being made to run for their life in such a manner in Independent India.

ITs really a good question that you have brought up and I really admire it. Please go back to your 7th and 8th grade geographic books and find out what are the requirements for setting up industries. It depends on lot of factors and only one factor can't determine the success and failure in doing so. If you still want the moonlighting let me do it for you. Its realy interesting to have people like you in the country who when determining the success or failure of a cause, looking at the good and bad aspect of something, you start giving your virdict and start asking these ridiculous questions. Go and look into the mirror and ask yourself if this question is true to the spirit of being an Indian. I shouldn't be writing any more as that would be a waste of time.
