If they were so generous towards the muslims, there would not have been any need for "Sachar Commission" and things like that. The Muslim rulers also not very different from the politicians of today.
There is no comparision between India after independence or what existed before that. We are now living in a secular democratic country where every citizen have equal rights irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion.
You cannot enjoy that kind of freedom in any Islamic Country. All these talk of Ummah etc are only for brainwashing the impressionable youth.
The so-called keepers of Islamic Faith, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the main partner of USA in waging war against Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Pakistan is also rendering all possible assistance. Do you have the guts to speak against Saudi Arabia?????????

purnav, that is not a solution. We cannot wish away about 15% of our Country's population. They should realize the futitlity of fighting in the name of religion.
A meeting is being scheduled for 25th of this month by the Deoband to clarify the matter of "Jihad" described in the Koran which the terrorists are misusing. Hopefully, sanity will prevail among the muslims also in the near future.

That would be an eyewash since the Islamic Clerics world over emphasize that not even a single word of the Koran can be removed or changed. And Koran in its present form is very clear about 'Jihad' which is fighting the oppressor and any non-muslim in a muslim dominated country or area when invited to join Islam refuses to do is becomes an oppressor.
I am an atheist but sometimes I feel that some higher law or power is probably punishing humans as a whole for their cruelty towards other species of animals. Millions and millions of cows, chicken, goats and other animals are mercilessly slaughtered to feed humans who don't really need animal food. Probably that is the reason why the present day humans are facing innumerable problems like terrorism, over population, day-to-day stresses etc. Given that humans are the biggest criminals, I find it very difficult to sympathize with the plight of humanity.

sadaChiddi, our country had always welcomed other cultures and also provided solace to the persecuted population from the world over, be it Parsis, Jews, Bengladeshis in 1971Dalai Lama or the Palestanians now in the UN Sponsored Refugee camps in Delhi who fled their home land due to persecution of another section of their own religion.
We had even paid surcharge on Pastage Stamps and BEST bus tickets for the benefit of Bengladeshi Refugees!!!!! That is called culture. Not what we eat or how we dress!!!! Nor the old crumbling monuments!!!!!!!
