It is very unfortunate that anti-national Communist traitors always live long.... look at each @55h01e... at least 70 years old.... bl00dy jokers have f*cked the country.... Like government services, the Politicians shud be retired at 58.

Commies, like mad dogs, they shud be shot dead once they reach 58.

Respectable retirement

Mr. Basu has played his part true to the demand of history. Today time has changed. He may not be required in 21st century. But how can we forget the demanding situation in the last century ?
Let us allow him a most respectable retirement.

It is time!

Basu should be left alone as times have changed. The communist theories are not compatible with human nature. To each according to his needs & from each based on abilities just do not work. We are all too lazy and take advantage at the first opportunity. I had first hand experience in Kerala when the unionists were never in the govt & bank offices, out for party work when the shirtless and hungry "common man", waited for hours at the corridors of power, trying to make eye contact when they did make their grand appearance. Once, I saw a deathly man losing all hope as the bus departed & failing to get refund for the ticket of his daughter. When he was shoed away as refund time was past, I gave him the few rupees. The glint of gratefulness in his eye I cannot even forget many years later, though he politely refused initially to accept the sum from a stranger.

The excessess of capitalism is obnoxious, but how else to create any wealth? China had a leader in Deng who skilfully rewarded the enterprising, transforming the country. The dyed in the wool communist saw no charm in a failed system, when the enterprsing chinese transformed Hongkong. Taiwan, Singapore into marvels. Pol Pot's maoist uprising in Cambodia finished off quarter of the population for nothing. Vietnam is embracing even US - no muslims you are safe-etc. North Korea & Cuba are failed states.

There is no substitute for hard work & discipline. Theories should be workable. Basu's work is done!

He should jump off the Howarah Bridge,or dig his own grave and jump in it, or stand infront of speeding train and commit suicide. Rest of India will have one more evil less to count.

When Jyoti Basu is more, we will know that in reality he was a CIA agent who used to go to London and New York to confer with his bosses and leak info on national security. We will also know that he was kept alive on some drugs which has enabled him to live till 94. He has presided over the destruction of our beloved state and has single handedly destroyed the infrastructure of our motherland. He is a combination of the worst dictators of history - Brezhnev, Ceausecsu, Pol Pot and Idi Amin. I agree that he has spoilt Bengal's reputation. But we are too strong a race to let one person spoil us and we should unite and put Bengal where it belongs - at the very top.

Jyoti Basu does not want to resign till his death. He's just measuring his support-strength in the party.
He took same strategy unlimited times and again party gave him full-support.

Good bye Jyoti Basu !
by PKN on Feb 23, 2008 01:22 AM  Permalink

Jyoti Basu's desire to quit active politics has resulted in some many on this discussion board to celebrate and also use the moment to pit venom on this grand old man of the communist movement in West Bengal. Maybe justified when one accspts that Jyoti Basu belonged to breed of Indian politicians who lived by the tenet that every thing was right as long as it helped them win/retain power.
In his quest for power , he destroyed the very state that voted him again and again to power. If that was bad , it was worse that he felt no pangs of guilt! He used warped logic to justify what was going wrong in his state. As an Indian he felt no pangs in supporting the Chinese aggression or in allowing large scale illegal migration from Bangladesh that ended up being a vote bank for the CPI(M) .
It did not matter to him that he presided over the decline of WB, it only mattered to him that he presided.
The only regret that he would have is that the party by way of what he called an 'historical blunder' denied him the right to preside over the nation from New Delhi!
Sadly history may in the end list only another historical blunder, that of the people of West Bengal in reposing their trust in that man more than once. But history may ultimately forgive the people of West Bengal since they ultimately paid a very high price for that historical blunder.

Who gives a shit about this traitor who once supported China when they invaded our country. As long as they worship foregin leaders and carry foregin flag in their shoulders , I dont consider them as true Indians. They have no respect for Gandhi,Patel or Bose. They love to celebrate Lenni's B-day. They still lick the feet of WHITE MEN(Lennin,Marx,Bucher Stalin) and CHINAMAN MAO. These are their leaders. You dont find any Indian name among them. They wear CHE and Castro's T-shirt. But not our national leaders. They born for many fathers.
