No problem..But...
by imran patel on Feb 21, 2008 07:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is no problem with this strategy, unless,

- There is fair competition, i.e. the same opportunity is open to any other Indian citizen.

- It is upto the factory owners to hire these individuals. He must be no compulsion.

My question to the Sena crowd is, where were these workers when people from the north came and started working in Nasik ? And how long will these workers stay in these jobs ?

This entire exodus of people from their own country is shameful and a failure of protecting individual rights.

This is no different than what happened to the Pandits in Kashmir. Some may argue that Pandits were originally from Kashmir. Well we are all Indians. States are only for administrative purposes. I am from Maharsahtra, but my identity as an Indian triumps the fact that I am a Maharashtrian. And this applies to everyone.

This act by the MNS is so narrow minded. It is just shameful.

Maharashtra pity politics
by sanjay girdhar on Feb 21, 2008 07:44 PM  Permalink

NRI's like us feel very embarassed on hearing such pity politics tactics. While we profess that the World is a big family, back home there are politicians who do it just to get noticed and gain sympathy of fellow marathi brothers and sisters who are unemployed. But all said & done it is finally these people at the bottom of our society who gets the stick everywhere.
Lets come out of this dirty politics wherein the only concern is to get few more seats to have more say in getting contracts or more to form a government to do everything possible under the sun and ofcourse moon.

Post the worthwhile message many times
by D S on Feb 21, 2008 07:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We can post worthwhile message many time, it should be ignored by those whom it is not meant for.
There is nothing like scope for "Schindia" or "Raje". What we give in North is preference for Marathas such as Shivraj Patil, Marathi President and Vasundara Raje show we are not narrow minded as Ship Sena and MNS types.

I don't think the north people see Marathi, Bengalis, Oriya as selectively and isolated as the Marathis do to us. We don't go looking for them in Delhi to hit at them selectively.
