Every state should follow
by Narendran kumar on Feb 22, 2008 12:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The way shown by the Thackerays. Send all the outsiders from Bangalore, Delhi, West Bengal, Chennai, Hyderabad, and all cities. The govt should make a law that immigration is not allowed for any reason to safeguard the culture. The only problem is all the other countries where a lot indians irrespective of their language, religion, and caste will be forced to get out of those countries to save their culture and give jobs to locals. If we oppose they will show us the examples set by our political and religious leaders. Otherwise no problem. Let all the people be in their own state or city and die even if drought or flood affects. Who is worried. For a maratha, Bihari's problems are not a matter even though both the states are in India. Likewise for every one. Let this continue and soon let the states become countries. That is where all this is going to end.

Poetic justice
by Kumar on Feb 21, 2008 10:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It will be poetic justice if the industries move out a patriotic place like MP or Chattisgarh where these problems don't exist. Already Indore, Bhopal, Raipur, Durg/Bhalai and Jabalpur are booming.

The only difference is Indians learn and speak other language when they r immigrating to other countries. Why don't we do the same when immigrating to other states of India??

Why forcing languages is wrong?

Suppose an IT professional with kids works in Bangalore for 2 years. You will force the kid to learn Kannada. Next the IT person changes job and moves to Hyderabad for next 3 years, then you will force his kid to learn Telgu. Then he moves to Mumbai and Calcutta, so you will force the kid to learn Marathi and Bengali. When he moves to Delhi and Tamil Nadu next you expect him to learn Hindi and Tamil. This whole idea is a joke. How dare does anyone torture a poor kid? If people love their respective languages, they should go ahead and teach those languages to their OWN kids. How dare they force this on OTHER'S kids? This sounds like facism to me.

Total Indians in US are 1.5 millions. If you subtract Gujrathi's, Punjabi & Telugus which are mostly saw indians in US from this I don't thinks millions of marathis are in US. Also they come here with Visa & within law. When they come here they have either job or college admission like other Indian communities. One should not compare this to Mumbai issue.

There are millions of Maharastrians in MP, UP and Chhattisgarh. Go and visit Indore, Gwaliar, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Raipur, Durg/Bhilai, Kanpur and Delhi. Why? Because India is one country. If people want to stop migration of people and force them to learn non-mother tongue laguages (not by choice but by force) then we should go ahead and spilt India into multiple countries? Why create this drama of a NATION when we don't even follow the basic defination of a nation, which is no one can coerce and bully you? Once India breaks into these 600 countries again (as was before 1947), I very much doubt that each of these nation states can even stand up to Afghanistan and Bangladesh, much less Pakistan.

End the caste system to bring the dead India alive.
by Kumar on Feb 21, 2008 10:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

UP and Bihar are rotting because the caste system drives the society. Eliminate the caste system and the UP/Bihari society will prosper. I know this from personal experience.

RE:End the caste system to bring the dead India alive.
by manoj kumar on Feb 22, 2008 12:20 AM  Permalink
The most mysterious part of this caste system in Bihar is that it sees no boundaries based on region or language. A Kurmi in bihar feels as much proud of Shivaji or Sardar Patel as their counter parts in Maharashtra or Gujarat. Similarly a Kurmi in Bihar feels as much loyal to a Kurmi in Maharashtra or Gujarat as their Kurmi neighbor in their own town.

If India had just one caste, Biharis would fit best into it. It should be a caste based on nationalism which will make them forget all other caste loyalties. Sub-nationalism, which exists in many other States, keeps people of Bihar attached to this caste system to maintain their regional identity to some extent as there is no concept of sub-nationalism in Bihar.

Why Biharis and UP's ppl don't learn Marathi. Does nationalism only means speaking Hindi and giving less or no value to Kannad, Marathi, Tamil.... other official languages of india???

India was build as a nation based on cultural and lingual diversity.A 'resident' who's decided to settle there permanently has to protect it.So if u settle in a place which speaks regional language..it's ur moral responsibility to learn it...otherwise face music as outsider...

Thackrey easy targeting of Biharis has nothing to do with development. Thackrey will cry when industries move out of Maharastra because he could not tolerate 2 Bihari workers in a company with 98 non-biharis.
How about if Marathis being stooped from Visarjan in TN/AP???

Why don't Indians have respect for either Sanskrit or National language. Indians have Psyce to respect only those who kill them in millons by using one against other or directly.
That is why we have respect for English so much!!!

people should respect mother tongue and the language of the place where they reside. It could be Marathi/Telugu/Kannada/Chinese/Hindhi.

Apart from that giving extra importance to Sanskrit or the so called National Language and all does not make any sense.

When the whole of south india does not know Hindi how can that be called National Language !!! That is real stupidity.
