Human society was divided on lines of caste, creed, color and tribes, and consequently was plunged into the valley of conflicts and tribulations. Caste based on birth was propounded by vested interests, guided by the principle of selfish pleasure and geo-socio-economic sentiments with the sole motives to perpetuate economic exploitation over the ignorant mass. Same is the case with racial sentiments. The "purity" and vanity of racial superiority associated with religious dogmas is a glaring case of vested interest psychology.
It is irrational, illogical, conservative and dogmatic to divide humanity on the bases of external differences. This sort of psychology is the product of evil forces. How to get rid of this sort of mentality and establish a universal social order? If right thinking people and well-wishers of the society wanted to form a peaceful world order, the following factors should be integrated:
(1) universal social outlook based on Neo-Humanism
(2) availability and guarantee of minimum requirements of life
(3) common penal code based on cardinal principles of life
(4) a progressive and rational socio-economic theory
(5) social codes of conduct for justice, discipline and social solidarity
(6) logical and scientific views of life and world free from dogmas and superstitions
(7) a spiritual-moralist leadership free from geo or class sentiments

Dear Seshadri, basically every human-being is selfish. Every thought and action of an individual is aimed at deriving some benefits for him (either material gain or mental pleasure). This is a universal principle of Psychology.

Vedic dharma had held societal interests over the interests of a family and a family's interests over that of an individual!
So, the universal appeal should be restricted only to "Selfishness". The rest is subject to a combination of factors...

Mr.Mukherjee, we would have the same narrow agenda if we also start lamenting like the muslims that "Islam is in danger" ever since the inception of their religion.
If nearly 700 years of Muslim rule or nearly 200 years of European Christian rule could not make our Country a Muslim or Christian country, that is just not possible in 21st century.
All the Arabian Muslim countreis with their filty oil wealth cannot control a small country with a population of just 15 million!!!!!!!! The muslims are only day dreaming about controlling more than 850 million hindus in India!!!!
You quote an article written in Organizer, and talk about BJP. The ideology of RSS hasn't changed, and will not waver with political compulsions of the day. But, the case of BJP is different. Ofcourse, without RSS, there would've been no BJP. But, they are seperate entities.

Dear Cupid, history is also his-story. There is a saying in Sanskrit which roughly translates to "the Rishis praise those who were ruling at the relevant time"
We had no system of recording historical events till the arrival of Britishers. There is no comparision between post independence India (or for that matter the world after WW_II) and what existed before that.
We cannot reverse the clock. Historical wrongs cannot be set right today. Learn from past mistakes and look forward to the future unbiased.

cupid, the muslims ruled some parts of India for nearly 700 years. However they were not able to subjucate the entire country nor convert all natives into their religion.
Moreover, once having established the muslim rulers were only interesed in amassing wealth, filling up their harems with beautiful women, building monuments, etc. They did not care for the common muslims. If they were generous towards the muslims, there was no need for "Sachar Commission" and such things!!!!!!!!
The muslims of today are having a false pride about some Muslims ruling our country without even realizing that they were also not very different from the politicians of our time!!!!!

THE FIRST HINDU TEMPLE IN LAST 1000 YEARS IN DELHI WAS INAGUATED BY GANDHI- IT WAS BIRLA TEMPLE IN LATE 1930S!
Yes, all areas were not under uniform Muslim rule for 1000 years. Neither it was always settled.
But, broadly speaking, important parts of northern india was ruled by Muslims from 11-12th century, that makes it almsot a millenium.

Mr. Nanchil, nobody is saying that India should not be a secular country. Our country is already secualar. We should thank the millions of freedom fighters and the tall leaders of that time for making our Sceular despite division of India into two based on religion and the communial riots that followed that!
However there is a limit to the tolerance of the majority.
Nobody is willing to tolerate the belligerance of the minorities in the name of Secularism (whether Islamic terrorism or the conversion agenda of the missionaries).
