PUNE: A pair of silver footwear from the idol of Sri Sai Baba were stolen from a temple at Somwar Peth in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to a complaint filed at the Samarth police station by Rajabhau Dhayarkar of Somwar Peth, the footwear was owned by the Sri Sai Baba Palkhi Sohala Samiti and was kept in the Sai temple at his house.
The family had taken out a palkhi on the occasion of the eight anniversary of the temple on February 18. The programme continued till late night and then Dhayarkar went to his house keeping the door of the temple open. During his absence the footwear was stolen by some unidentified person.
Other precious materials at the temple, including photos of Sri Sai Baba, were left untouched. Dhayarkar announced a trip to Shirdi with VIP entry pass as a reward to anyone who can provide leads into the theft.
People from various parts of India have crowded the cities and towns of Maharashtra, thus pushing original people out of these economic centers. Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray just wants to bring back some balance.

He is unbalanced to begin with, selfish to the core. If there is nuke strike scre on mumbai vicinity, where will the surrounding area people go ? South does not have much space... hw about global warming and flooding..this is not it...there are many way from GOD to punish wicked people and their selfish support. Its very simple... Marathi people when go to USA, speak the language of that part. When they go to France, they need to understand/speak French if they want to stay there longer... isn't that what Thakray is also suggesting? If you are a visitor in Mumbai, thats ok, but if you want to be a resident of Mumbai and work in the Civic system, they better learn the local language and abide with local laws and customs. I dont see any problem here.
There can be debates upon imposing the national language in every state, but then South Indian states need to do a lot before anyone points a finger to Maharashtra...

Mandar-- seriously man pls I thot maharashtrians will be better than this at least.. When marathi guy goes to US, he "has" to accept what US or France says because ur he is going to a "foreign" country. U cant expect a person to know all the local languages.. yet freedom of movement is more important than language and so anyone can come to Mumbai but still not be reqd to learn Marathi.. If the person survives.. whu r u to force him to learn marathi.. similarly if a person can survive in TN w/o speaking Tamil , more power to him.. I will tell u what the problem is.. Marathi people cannot live in Mumbai w/o speaking other languages.. Period...

Dare, first you should be considerate to 99.99% who doesn't move from their home state. only less than .01% people move from their state.
is not stupid to ask more that 99.99% of the population to study some other language to help some people who move from state to state?

Some days back i heard that bal thakrey said i am not against nortindians. Now he is provoking lalu to do chat puja in chennai. When these people understand god is god for eveybody. Today they asking for biharis, tommorow they will say muslims you go out of mumbai. It seems to be that mumbai is for thakrey only. What is this mess? The state govt should stop this issue immediately othewise one day this issue will become like Germany. These people trying to make maharashtra hell. What is in language, religion. You ask thakrey to dare and ask anyy IT employee to leave Maharashtra. In IT there are so many UP, Biharis working. He does not have dare to call them. He know these are educated people. This politics will make Thankre's cry one day definately. You know sanjay dutt made one mistake and his life become hell. Raj's life will also become hell. The new govt when it will come into power then they will put riots issue's on these people.
they should think of selecting 6 states every year and give them special status and allocate some budget for development to these 6 states for 1 year at National Level. So in 5 years 30 states will be covered for some form of development. The states in turn shouls select 6-7 cities every year and allocated speciual fund to improve infrstructure. This will help in distributing load and imporve infrastructure in unifom way. Currently only handful of cities are developed and offer employement opportunities wheras most of the cities in a states and most of the states in the county are criminally under developed. Such roatation will ensure that each city enjoys some special status and makes use of allocated funds. At this time we can't have Hundus fighting with Muslims and interstate rivarly or inter caste rivarly. We all must unite for mutual benifit. Mr.Thackery must realize that no one WANTs to leave their home and family and aged parents and yound kids behind to earn bread for 2 times. If the development is spread all over the states and country then everyone would prefer to live where they belong.

I think Mr.Thakrey understands it but he understands further too..Everyone struggles to give their kids better life. and so some leave their place, parents behind and start somewhere the basic thing is no matter where one goes, one got to respcet that local culture. Even if there were 60 non-biharis in company, he will think of those 2 who are biharis. I don't think Thackrey is really concerned if his hard tactics, union-bazi, hafta-bazi, sun of soil slangs make Industries move of Maharastra
I am from AP and I don't want Telugu to be imposed on any person in AP. For that matter I don't want Hindi or any other language to be imposed either. Instead, I would prefer that Mathematics and Science are imposed on everyone till class 10. And reduce the amount of history and civics because history is anyway distorted, and civics relates to Legislature and Governance, which are pathetic in India anyway. I would especially love to IMPOSE Darwin's Theory of Evolution in Madrassas and Convant schools and all other religious schools. :) That would be fun.

Once upon a time English was kind of imposed and was necessary to grow up and result now is that after English left, country is joined by this language or can say the literate people. Now, to unite, the rest of the majority, it is imp to have a common language and understanding. Hindi can play that role. It could have been any other language but Hindi was seleted due to no of people. Off course it is important to keep state, regional, town language but one common language will surely strengthen out unity. In Europe each country has got it's own language and fight but Switzerland have got 5 or may be more official language and nobody has got any problem.

Spot on Fun lover. Only language that should be taught is English and mother tongue in additionto Math and science. If you have these skills you can learn anything. Also teach internet and computer skills. Why burden kids with toomany useless subjects.
I think Bal Thakrey is doing the right thing. Try this gimmick in other state and see what happens. We need to keep Marathi in all govt. places. In fact like TN the govt. should make Marathi compulsory in schools.

Infact instead of making such statement Lalu and Political leaders in UP and Bihar should make statements that they would develop their states to such an extent that they would hold this migration of people in their state only and attract people from other states. No leader dared to make such statement but every one wants to leave their state and come in Maharashtra where there is a secured life with no trouble.
