Its individual's interest
by Neutral on Feb 19, 2008 05:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I see many bloggers here are against going to US. But, I feel that whether u go to US or any other place is left to the individual. There is nothing unpatriotic in working from abroad. Also, all who are in India are not Patriotic.
But, surely illegal immigration should be avoided.

I have seen many of my friends & relatives who always oppose anyone going & settling in US. Usual comment is "What is there in US that is not there in India?"

But after few years same people and their wards happily settle in US.

So my message to fellow bloggers is to "Avoid taking their words seriously. You decide on your own"

Why many likes US
by Neutral on Feb 19, 2008 05:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. Good standard of living
2. Money
3. Clean Environment
4. Less Corruption (I cant say Zero corruption, but faaaaaaar better than India
5. Good Customer Care & Service
6. Even though you pay the same percentage of tax (nearly 30%), you feel happy to pay taxes in US as the infrastructure, road, electricity, water etc are managed perfectly.

Ofcourse, drawbacks are missing your loved ones and risk of job (especially for consultants)

Agreed that money is available in India for skilled people. Again, most of them work in IT Companies and MNCs (who again depend largely on US based Clients)....
Nothing big change. There they work for US at US. Here most of those "skilled" ones work for US from India

It is American arrogance to say '800m are ready to come to US'
by brookie on Feb 19, 2008 05:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is American arrogance to say '800m are ready to come to US' But all over world including US/UK there is a growing hard views on indians and their IT solutions supremacy.

While I was interacting with my counterpart in UK who is working as a consultant charging 1200GBP /day and has kool life with family; but he is till worried of Indian professionals as he is not sure of his sons' feature, with growing competetion from Indians in schools/universitys there is lot of pressure on white students to study well or perish.

Many of such pressures have built up making them worried over their survival in their own country, which is largely unrealistic. So that is leading to lot of insecurity that in turn jacks them up in arms against Indians.

But while we fight with in india for local jobs, demand non-locals should be out; pitted against other fellow indians....then whats wrong in other countries worrying about indians? So we cant show our finger at them

It is Indian lawyer who said this , and he knows reality better than an armchair idiot like you. USA per capita income in purchasing power $45,000, India $3300. Why wont Indians migrate ?

Now you will say IIM IIT and all that bullshit getting high salaries, my dear friend they make less than 0.1% of Indian population.

In USA even a dhobi can afford easily a toyota corolla, which is considered a luxury here.

Stats speak otherwise.
The report says there are 2,70,000 unauthorized Indians in the United States - a 125 percent jump since 2000, the largest percentage increase of any nation with more than 100,000 illegal immigrants in that country

Now dont be an idiotic pseudopatriotic armchair Ahole

Some stupid clowns are behaving as if Indians are not going abroad anymore. On the contrary people migrating abroad only rises every year, as evident by rise of Indian immigrants both illegal and legal to America despite so called booming economy.

little do they realize that in India even if you are a billionaire you still have to live in same maddening crowds, and greedy relatives scortching for money, and selfish reasons to associate with you.

better off without those leecherous relatives who talk to you only if they see you have some money ! otherwise they look other way, This has happened in my life.

True Indians..
by Murugesan Venkatachalam on Feb 19, 2008 04:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think a true Indian should earn how much he can and from all places of the world. Finally he should share his wealth and knowledge to his mother country from where they studied. People settled illegally in US and other countries are simply selfish and they can't get satisfication at the end of their life.

India is the place where people pay less tax to government. There are many schemes in India where you can save money House loans, study loans, LIC and also for your first RS: 1,00,000 it is not needed for you to pay tax.
Money which you earn in other countries you will not pay tax in India you know this. If you earn any money in India you will pay. You pay more tax in US, UK, etc.. and when it comes to pay tax in India you feel like some one is steeling your money. You having enough money in hand and feel bad in paying tax for Indian government how come a middle class and lower class family will think. Wake-up man be in reality

Hello, India is already earning with the remittance by the NRIs and others to their kins,so it is always better to live a healthy life with proper infrastructure, uncorrupted police, educated politicians and bystanders etc .Having said that, India is also developing, albeit at a slow pace .If you sit and compare the statistics, then staying in a developed country is by far better cos u cannot change the Indian people, the attitude is in the roots taught by the british..even most of the sons/daughters of politicians are abroad ..why?Manmohan Singh's daughter..the PM's daughter..i repeat..the PM's daughter is in US:)))

only top 5% of Indian population are graduates and even lesser 0.5% MBA and Btechs drawing 50k salaries, what about rest 95% ? In American dhobis, coolies, and mochis drive Toyota corolla somethign here MBAs do.

Germany was made because Germans did not leave Germany for US. Japan was made because Japanese did not leave Japan. British, French, Dutch, Scandanavians all made their country worldclass by staying and fighting in their day to day life. Even Americans have also undergone many hardship to make a deserted land a prosperous country- the US!!!!! And Indians? They are running away? Bunch of cowards!!!!! We, in a beautiful country like India do not need this cowards!!!! and wont accept these fellows when US would throw them out!!!! US can put them in Atlantic or in Pacific or enslave them to wash their clothes!!!!!Who are questioning Indian infrastructure? What you have done for India? What benefit you have given to India for that you are asking benefits? If you have paid your taxes, then why do you elect corrupt people to the parliament? We in India need leaders!!! Not slaves like this!!!! and this Shah Peerally fellow is a stupid to the power infinity!!!! From where he got this 800 million figure? I would claim 200 million people from US are so fade up that they want to immigrate to India.....and you all IT walos who have turned into dhobis, pizzahut cleaners, gas station attendants, good luck to you!!!! We can give enough of those jobs to you here in India....It is always preferable to rule a hell than become a slave in heaven....You wash the chaddis of the Goras and curse your forefathers!!!!! Before being thrown into Atlantic.....

this is very silly. America was made up of immigrants. The british, the french, the german , the italians, the duth - people from every european country left to the US in the great american dream in the 19th and 20th centuries. European countries came up because they nurtured talent. In India, people will be waiting to pull the legs of successful people - be it in science or sports ( like Sania Mirza) or movies ( like Amitabh Bhachan). It is true that if one day the US says whoever wants to come to the US, please do....India will be empty

Precicely what i meant, given a choice ask a mochi, dhobi, nai, or press wala, Ok I give you green card, will you like to work in America, he will jump at it !

that's the whole point, people will still have a motive to migrate for want of better life. Only those will not migrate who are too much in to joint family dynamics and / or cannot go abroad for various reasons

So the statement and that too from an Indian lawyer 'Shah' about 800 million wanting to migrate is not far fetched which psuedopatriotic people here are taking as an offence. Stats say otherwise why is illegal migration rising despite so called booming economy ?
