As soon as a govt forms and Mr.Ten percent is at it again, people will want the general's party and the islamists that were routed back to power and the west will crowe how the hardliners are back.

All the people in the world need to understand when people in south asia vote, they vote against the party in power to any available option.

Unless ofcourse in West bengal where there have been no "unrigged" elections of any consequence

Everywhere in the world Govt changes, but not in West Bengal.

Everywhere in the world Govt changes, but not in West Bengal.
That is because people of Bengal do not love CPM. CPM uses different machinery.
Manata is crap and joke. CPM manage center through its big GUN,
Pranab Mukherjee, true watermallone (inside red, outside green).
CPM have brocken the spine of Bangalees who can not stand up anymore. Its a very organized terror.

CPM goons are at each and every corner of the society. Moreover CPM uses state power including police-force for its party activity only.
With the help of police they (CPM cadres and goons) kill and murder any form of opposition.
Now they term any form of opposition as Maoists present, who are clone of them only.

Truly, bangaleess pride and spine is lost under CPM rule.
CPM will be in Bengal for many more decades since most of the opportunists Intellectuals
(like Sunil Ganopapadhaya, Soumitra Chattopadhayay etc) lick CPM and clean their boots for personal benefits.
CPM will only be finished as Dynasaur finished. By that time Bangalee Society will brocken completely.

where r u from??.....from your name you seem to be a southie (no puns intended...and with due respect).....the reason commies survived so long in bengal is because of a lack of a viable alternative. the only alternative that seems to be around is the abominable Mamata Banerjee.....so unlike you southies , who vote for criminals like Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha, we prefer to stick to the lesser evil.....not because they are good....but because they are the best of what we got....and one last comment....it does not elevate your community to show down another community....if you cannot engage in constructive debate without resorting to vitriols, get something else to do.

For this Bengalis alone are responsible. They warship 'Goddes Kali' in one hand and 'Atheist Marx' by other hand.
The law of nature is punishing these self contradictory people. There will be no change of government for another 100 years.

Musharaf
by yugal joshi on Feb 20, 2008 12:55 AM  Permalink

Such a convenient democracy in Pakistan. Musharaf knows well that irrespective of who comes to power as PM, as long as the Army supports him it does not matter. The day he finds that the incumbent Government is not working in "harmony" he would dismiss it at will. However he must not forget that Army head is nobody's property. When he could do a coup, the next General can as well.

Will respect power of new PM: Musharraf tells US senators
by Hebbar R on Feb 19, 2008 09:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

An SMS quoted below, aptly explains Musharraf's Opinion :
"The Logic of the Human Mind - It seeks compromise when one is wrong and seeks judgement when others are wrong".

Musharraf did not blink an eye when he destroyed all the democratic institutions and jailed the top Judicial Officials and declare a state of emergency. Now, when he is on the loosing side, he wants them to co-operate with him. Great Logic and argument from this hypocrate. Doubt if he will even believe himself anymore.

Not a good news

Pakistan is heading towards a coalition govt, which is bad news for everybody. We are already seeing the bad effects of coalitions in India. Think it will make pakistan more unstable. The only way out is to somehow keep musharraf as he is the only guy who understands all the dynamics of the situation.

by Fried Yakov on Feb 19, 2008 09:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Will both the neighbours now have rubberstamp PM's or will the Pak PM have enough guts to impeach Musharraf- only time can tell. Democracy has so far been a failed experiment in Pakistan, let us see what happens now. The only worry is in this melee, nuclear weapons falling into wrong hands. Soon we may have to worry about corrupt Pakistani politicians offering open succor to jihadi groups to continue in power. It is only wait and watch for the world now.
