Change????
by Devendra Chikara on Feb 19, 2008 06:01 PM  Permalink

Well we have had civilian rulers and military rulers in India and one thing they have in common- hatred towards India. They have been talking of thousand-years-war and so on! Do you really expect any change in Paki foreign policy towards its neighbor? No Sir, I dont think so .

Indo-Pak Relationship to be strengthened
by Baigankebal on Feb 19, 2008 05:44 PM  Permalink

Who ever aquires power in Pakistan, i hope the elected government would strngthen the friendly relationship with India and both the countries come to a peaceful and equally benefiting resolution on Kashmir issue.

Over decades we have seen too much of blood and voilence and unrest in both countries due to kashmir now its high time peace and harmony and freedom and security is restored in the troubled areas.

%u201CReturn of Democracy%u201D in Pakistan
by navin bhadani on Feb 19, 2008 05:43 PM  Permalink

%u201CReturn of Democracy%u201D in Pakistan is good for India. When Atal jee and Nawaz were in power, they did the wonderful job by starting the peace process. Once Atal jee truly said that we can change friend, but can not change the brother.

But Kargil had totally demolished the peace fabric. Now, Mussaraf, the %u201CKargil Man%u201D is now not so relevant in the power center of Pakistan. The election result (if PML %u2013N and PPP will join hands) will also keep the Pak Army to act as a super power center.

I am not a scholar of International Politics or expert of Indo-Pak relation, but hope the Pakistani leaders will understand that the future of Pakistan depends on development and eradication of poverty & illiteracy, and not on Jehadi culture.

I really feel happy for Pakistan that its people have got what they wanted: democracy. I hope the US does not derail democracy's journey.

Its not US or India, but their people themselves derail democracy which is ruled by religious factors.

Your happiness will not last longer. there is no democracy in any Muslim Country in the world. Neither ruler nor Muslim people want democracy. "Lato ke Bhut bato se nahi mante" is applicable for them.

do you think how long will it last. perhaps until a quick coup by the current army chief or so. also in my opinion, Musharaf might be the most moderate face available in pakistan at this point. wait and see what happens in Kashmir after the takeover of the 'democratic rule' in pakistan.

Not Revenge!! but Change
by astalavista on Feb 19, 2008 05:28 PM  Permalink

It is coz of the same people Pakistan lost democracy and Musharaff came to power. Now they require only change of leadership. Lets wait and watch if democracy really wins in the coming days.
